The Giants have finished the the first quarter of the season at a perfect 4-0. But while the record is spotless, there have been both good and bad things to talk about so far. I will now examine the best and worst performances of the season thus far.
Steve SmithRemember Jerry Rice before he was on Dancing With The Stars and before he was with the Oakland Raiders? He was the greatest receiver of all time. Well Steve Smith is not the greatest receiver of all time, but his projected pace has him at a Jerry Rice-like 136 receptions, 1664 yards and 16 touchdowns. Who here thought he'd catch six touchdowns this season? Not me.
Grade: A-Plus
Eli ManningYou can argue that Manning always gets off to a fast start. But I will argue that he has never looked this good, except maybe in the 2007 playoffs. If he misses this Sunday's game, it'll hurt his final stats, but his current pace has his projection at 4156 yards, 32 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. It's hard to find ...
