The NFC East is always a question mark as to who will come out on top and usually has a race down the line. The New York Giants are proving to be the team to beat in the division and will likely win the division if not a first round bye in the NFC. Their 5-2 record is tops in the NFC East and tied for the best record in the NFC.

There are rumblings about Eli Manning as a possible MVP candidate for 2010. We don’t know about that one just yet, but he is Top 5 in Passing Percentage and tied for first in TDs going into week 8. That’s right, he has more (1) TDs than brother Peyton.

The big story for the Giants has been the strong play of the Defense. If they can get ahold of how many points are being scored (rank 19th in the NFL) they will certainly be a force down the stretch as they are top three in yards given up, Pass Yards, and Rush Yards.

Fantasy Football Jabber:

Did you buy into our preseason love for Hakim Nicks? Hope so as he is second to only Roddy White in standard and PPR leagues. He bombed in week 6, but that was sandwiched between two excellent performances. Playing hurt Nicks has been outstanding, especially for where he was drafted. Nicks was bypassed in favor of teammate Steve Smith in many drafts.

While it appeared that the torch had been completely passed to Ahmad Bradshaw, Brandon Jacobs has been rearing his ugly head and stealing points from the Bradshaw owners. Still, Bradshaw is a Top 10 scorer in both standard and PPR formats.
