The New York Giants have begun preparations for their NFC title game matchup against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday afternoon, but Giants head coach Tom Coughlin may want to begin preparations to construct a muzzle to put over his players' mouths.

To say that Giants safety Antrel Rolle is confident in his team’s chances this weekend would be a gross understatement as evidenced in comments he made to the New York Daily News:

"It don’t matter who we play. You can put an All-Star team in front of us, and we’re going to go out there and compete…We wouldn’t say we’re unstoppable, but our mindset is extreme at this point. We’re not going to be denied…in our minds, we can’t be beat.”

The Giants have every right to be confident after going into Green Bay and thoroughly demolishing the defending Super Bowl champions, but Jim Harbaugh is a coach that always has a chip on his shoulder and there's no doubt that Rolle’s comments will make the rounds in the 49ers locker room.

  • yes you can be beat,i only hope and pray that you get beat so freakin bad that you have to eat your words, you are an rude, igatistical(sp) team you go out and try to hurt players on purpose, you should not be allowd to play football.i can not stand you giants, now you are tacky team, guess you have to be the way you are now because you are now sin state!
  • This is football and this is a rough sport not like golf. This team has come a long way and if they are feeling confident the that is a wonderful thing, if you don't like them like so many others then don't let this be such a part of your life.
  • I like your reply ladygiant80!!! nana96 your stupidness is showing and your not looking so smart!!! New York Giants all the way!!! Giants fan from Nebraska for life!!! Its football not preschool nana96!!!
  • I agree! This team has worked very hard to overcome a not-so-good season w/injuries, and to make it into the playoffs! If you read the paragraph correctly, he said "in our minds, we can't be beat". They have the power of positive thinking on their side to boost their abilities. They know they are in for a tough game ahead, and I commend them on their win over Green Bay. Kudos to you Giants!
  • why r yu crying babe..?? Big Blue's muscle hurt yu SOMEHOW..?? This is FOOTBALL & PLAYED THE WAY IT IS..!! YU CAN'T GET IT.. !!??? DON'T BARG..!!!/////NYG fan, as always..///kck///

  • Hurt who you must be a Cowboy fan. HATER!!!!!Do you see any of the games because I do and don't now what you talking about.
  • OMG!!! are you kidding or just retarded? If you dont go into a game thinking or knowing you will win then GO HOME! because you dont stand a chance.... Being an athlete is about being confident in your ability to compete and succeed. Your the guy who wants everyone to win and that is not possible in life. what you need to teach your kids is that when you lose you need to try harder to win.... It is a basic concept but one you dont seen to get...
  • Tiki Barber ,you are a better person than their coach is.He always looks like he is about to cry,Tiki you did right not being with stupid potty mouth team llike little giants
  • Go Niners whip the "little"giantsThe giants think they are better than anyone else,i go news they r NOT!

  • Hey Nana96! by winning the games the Giants won shows who the better team is this may change next year but now it's all about the Giants! GET OVER IT... and the only little giant is the one your sleeping with
  • My Dear Mr. Rolle, Your quote,"It don't matter who we play" needs to be corrected as follows; "It doesn't matter who we play". Where did you graduate from college? Were you instructed to use proper grammar and syntax when addressing the public/media? You are not the only athlete that speaks so poorly, so many of you do. To receive the amounts of $ you all demand this day in age and do not even speak correctly is a disgrace to the Higher Education Institutions of our country!
  • Ms Teresa get a life.
  • He was speaking colloquially. I'm sure he knows the proper grammar for "it doesn't". You, on the other hand, tried hard and still made 2 mistakes in one paragraph. It's "any athlete WHO speaks..." and "this day AND age". We all have our strengths. His is being a world-class athlete. I don't hear him criticizing writers for not being able to cover wide receivers down-field.
  • Actually, i believe the fact that Rolle makes millions to play football makes him smarter than anyone on this site.
  • Please Respond.
  • tiki was a selfish player.glad we won a superbowl without him.if it wasnt for tom coughlin he would have led the all time record for fumbling..
  • nana96-
Your grammar is atrocious. Honestly you need to go back and finish middle school, since you're obviously a drop out. And I'll bite, how do the Giants try to hurt players? You mean by playing the game of football? You are clearly a disgruntled Packers fan, one who actually thinks that Tuck made helmet-to-helmet contact with Rodgers. Get over yourself. There was no helmet-to-helmet contact whatsoever. I suppose you think that Jennings didn't fumble either. If that's the case, you're dumber than I originally thought. Just go crawl back into whatever trash can that you call a home and start studying.
  • I agree Gmenfan62
    GO GIANTS!
  • Gmenfan62! Love you and I agree with you! Go Giants come Sunday against the San Fran!
  • As a Packers fan, I must say that Sunday's game was disappointing to say the least. I must say, however, that the Tuck hit was NOT helmet-to-helmet and that Jennings DID fumble the ball. Those ideas aside, the fact is that the Giants came to play hungry and the Packers came to play stoned. I can appreciate the turnaround in the Giants season, and honestly hope they take it all. At least then I can say my team was beat by the champions. To all those who say Rolle's comments were arrogant, they just beat the Packers (the freakin PACKERS!) to perform one of the greatest upsets in football history. Let them bask, they earned it, but hopefully for their sake they take the Niners seriously, or they may have a rude awakening.
  • i hope we don't forget it's just a game.family, friends and your health are far more important.if the outcome is truly that important change your life
  • To you and me this may be a game, to the players this is their career, and the realization of the American Dream. It's all about perspective. For them, if the game goes, family, friends, and possibly health may go along with it.
  • Be careful of what you say, Mr. Rolle. It's very easy to talk the talk, however a whole different story to walk the walk. By the way, did you watch the 49er's/Saints game? No one expected the Niners to win, yet they did, led by a nearly inpenetrable defense. Not saying you can't win, however, I am squarely in the 49er's camp, but I'm sure your comments have made the rounds through the 49er's locker room and right to Jim Harbaugh's ears and given them even more fuel to add to their fire. Two words for you: Go 49er's!
  • Just a game?! This here is FOOTBALL!! Most athletes are college graduates, but just don't speak the Queen's English, and many other professions are equally guilty. That said, the Giants' comeback cannot be undermined by some syntax errors. The G-men are for real and regardless of this week's results, still took out the Falcons and the Packers in championship fashion. No reason for personal attacks; after all, it's not personal, it's FOOTBALL!
  • GO BIG BLUE, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Giants are going to be taught a defensive lesson when they get to San Fran. San fransisco has been an underdog all year every media outlet all you here is about how great manning is well lets give credit where credit is do San fransoisco is a great team and am not a san francisco fan lets be real here they stopped the best qyuater back this season in his tracks so i can just see what theys ll do to manning....

  • Hey MsTeresa:
Your crap should read "Were you NOT instructed to use..." and WHY did you capitalize Higher Education?! You shouldn't pop off on people and leave yourself looking like a Cowboy fan.
  • c'mon peeps lets not b like dat....It is just a game....sorry that Packers lost...but it is wat it is...Let it go Packers....congratz Giants..it was a fair n square game...I am glad Giants won...b honest I was tired of Green bay talking trash and dey think they were all that cause they beat the Steelers....Giants did great...49ers also played great...c'mon win or lose it just how it goes...Well Giants i know u playing again my team da Niners I just wanna say may the best team win...and Good luck both team....okay let it go Packers fan...Giants won...deal with it....there is always next year.....
  • yo gd2012 your a dumass think about it giants lost agenst the packers and the 49ers during the season and we kick the packers ass so think 49ers can go suck it

Giants FS Antrel Rolle Says Team 'Can't Be Beat'

The New York Giants aren’t lacking for confidence when it comes to Sunday’s NFC Championship Game showdown at San Francisco. Antrel Rolle keeps on talking

I like Giants safety Antrel Rolle.  Talented on the field and entertaining off it, he makes this job easier by giving me and the rest of the guys plenty of things about which to write and/or babble. If I were Giants coach Tom Coughlin, however, I’d be looking for something to cram in Rolle’s mouth.…

Antrelle Rolle declares that Giants “can’t be beat”

Like the other team that plays in New York, the Giants have a habit of talking big.  Unlike the other team that plays in New York, the Giants have a habit of backing it up. But safety Antrel Rolle, who has done some talking this year that the team hasn’t backed up (Redskins fans know…

NFL Picks for Championship Weekend Unsure If Patriots-Giants II Will Take Place

The purpose of this story is to make educated, well-reasoned decisions about the games of the upcoming weekend. Turnovers, Weather Could Be Key to NFC Title Game

Giants safety Antrel Rolle says that the Giants can't be beat. While that sounds more like the coach of the other team that calls the Meadowlands home than it sounds like a member of the team that's coached by a man whose mantra is that talk is cheap, there's plenty of fuel for Rolle's argument right now. The Giants have crushed four straight opponents by hitting...

Tynes boots Packers, cold 23-20 in OT

In the split second it took Tom Coughlin to decide to go for the field goal that would send the Giants to the Super Bowl, he turned to find the decision already had been made. Lawrence Tynes, who had earlier missed two potential game-winners, never waited to hear Coughlin tell him to get out there.
