New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan isn't one to bite his tongue and he won't tell his players to pipe down, either. When Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis fired off some interesting comments about New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, Rex Ryan had no problem with it.

New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis sniped New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and Jets head coach Rex Ryan doesn't have any problem with it. Here's the gist of the Darrelle Revis Patriots comments:

"Bart (Scott) said his thing… “Can’t Wait” thing, but he still didn’t disrespect. He just said that they feel like they’re better than us. That’s okay. He didn’t say go suck– go do this or go do that. It’s personal. It’s disrespectful.”

Revis wouldn't back away from calling Belichick a jerk. Rex Ryan spun it as a sign of how fierce the New York Jets – New England Patriots rivalry is:

"It just tells you how fierce this rivalry is. I know one thing we’re going to do whatever we can to beat them. They’re going to do whatever they can to beat us. We know they’re an excellent football team. They’ve won our division the last three years. We want to win our division. We know we have to beat them. It goes through New England."

Rex Ryan doesn't care what his players say as long as they get it done on the field. Rex is known for his bluster, it would be hypocritical to tell his players they can't speak their mind. This is just the Jets being the Jets. Even when they say they are going to tone down the talk, that's all it is – talk.

Many will say the Jets should just shut up, but they shouldn't. They have to be themselves. If they're going to overtake the Patriots for the AFC East, they're going to chirp the whole way.

In the end, it's a quote in May. We'll see what happens on the field this fall.

Marcus Forston NFL Draft Analysis - 2010 Season (by TMBDraft) Interesting analysis of Patriots rookie free agent Marcus Forston. We’ve talked about it ad nauseum but the need for true interior rushers is one of the most under-mentioned needs for the Pats. Forston clearly has the ability to get off the snap quickly. He should give Myron Pryor and Jonathan Fanene some competition.

Jets QB coach: Sanchez had ‘poor decision-making’

There's no question that Mark Sanchez, entering what amounts to a make-or-break fourth season, has the weight on the world on his shoulders. Now, thanks to an unlikely source, it's gotten that much heavier. Pontificating on the past, Jets quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh told the New York Daily News that Sanchez displayed "poor decision-making" last season...

Tom Brady will play as long as the Patriots want him

There's a general consensus among most NFL fans that the last decade of football has been a clash of two great quarterbacks. Now, those quarterbacks are beginning to near their retirement, and we can't help but wonder just how long they'll continue to play. I'm talking, of course, about Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Manning missed the entire 2011 season after multiple...

Rich Ohrnberger to try out for Giants

If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. That’s what Rich Ohrnberger is hoping to do, as the former New England Patriot will attend a try out with the world champion New York Giants. Jenny Vrentas, the Jets beat writer for the Star-Ledger, caught up with David Harris and Darrelle Revis where they talked about Rex Ryan and the turmoil coming out of the last portion of the season.
