98.7 The Fan’s Justin “The Commish” Pawlowski was talking a lot of Bucs and Darrelle Revis during his show on Friday. To further expand on that conversation (or debate), Pawlowski brought in Joe Bucs Fan to join him in studio. During their segment, a listener called in saying that the local media is pressuring Buccaneers’ general manager Mark Dominik into making a deal. Which I personally found very comical and took it to Twitter. However, if anyone is “pressuring” an organization, that would be the New York media trying to force the Jets into trading their star cornerback. WFAN CBS New York’s Jason Keidel The Jets need to deal Revis now. Not next year, not next month, not next week. Don’t wait for the perfect offer, because there isn’t one. We sign onto Match.com waiting for the perfect partner when she doesn’t exist. We wait for the perfect job offer when there isn’t one. I wrote a novel 10 years ago and fired my agent because she wasn’t perfect. Then I never sold the book. Just like there isn’t a perfect player, there’s no perfect team. We just wish the Jets didn’t remind us so vividly, and so often. NBC New York’s Josh Alper If that first offer is on the table, the Jets should take it and never look back. Getting a first- and second-round pick for a player coming off a torn ACL would be a boon in any year, but especially in a 2014 draft that’s shaping up to have a lot more talent than this year’s draft…. …It’s delayed gratification, but why should that matter to a team that is going nowhere fast this season whether they have one, two or three first-round selections? The Jets took their shot during Ryan’s first three seasons and it fell short, which means now is the time to start rebuilding for another bite at the apple in the years to come. Surely the Jets do not want this Darrelle Revis saga to turn into a P.R. nightmare. But with all the conflicting reports (mainly coming out of New York), it’s hard to say that it is not already heading there. Ultimately, they will do what they feel is best for their organization. (The Commish can be heard Monday – Friday from 9am – 12pm on 98.7 The Fan) The post New York’s saying Jets should trade Darrelle Revis appeared first on The Bay Cave.

Jets “not clear” if Bucs’ 13th pick is enough

It is time for another rebuttal to a story that was a rebuttal to previous stories which was a rebuttal for… Well you get the hint. To follow up yesterday’s story about the Bucs’ 2014 draft picks comes a story from the New York Post saying general manager John Idkzik isn’t even clear what he wants in return from the Bucs to trade Darrelle Revis. Bucs’ 2014 picks in play for Darrelle Revis

Another day, another bit of news regarding Darrelle Revis. This time, it comes courtesy of Peter King of Sports Illustrated.  King writes that the Buccaneers do not necessarily need to part with any of this year’s draft picks. In fact, the source said, if the Jets are willing to take both picks in 2014, Tampa Bay would likely deal its first- and second-round picks for Revis...

Report: Jets not expected to cave to the Bucs’ trade demands

According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, people who know Jets’ general manager John Idzik don’t believe he’ll end up giving in to the Buccaneers trade demands of giving up their first and second round picks in 2014, opposed to this year’s first and next year’s second round picks. Idzik should ask for this year’s No. 1 and next year’s No. 2 from the Bucs. That would...

New York Jets GM John Idzik: Patience Will Pay Off with Darrelle Revis

There has been a lot of posturing lately as the media whispers about a potential Darrelle Revis trade continue to be louder than the actual action. The New York Jets paid the roster bonus Darrelle Revis was due on Saturday, removing that as a motivating factor to get a deal done quickly. Then it was reported that John Idzik is looking for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to give up their...

Report: Bucs Offer 2014 1st & 2nd Round Picks To Jets For Darrelle Revis

As we reported earlier this week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are growing tired of the games the New York Jets seem to be playing in regards to working out a deal for star cornerback Darrelle Revis.  The Buccaneers are still the only team we hear in regards to the Revis trade, and it appears they are not going away quietly. The Star Ledger via Peter King of Sports Illustrated is reporting...

More On Darrelle Revis To The Buccaneers

Update: Peter King of SI.com reports that a source has informed him that the Buccaneers would consider trading the Jets their first- and second-round picks in 2014 for CB Darrelle Revis. King mentions that the Buccaneers are the “only serious bidder” for Revis at this point, and there’s a good chance that this is as far as Tampa Bay is willing to go in the negotiating process...
