Dallas Cowboys And The NFL:
The NFL made the right decision in selecting Carolina rookie Cam Newton as Eli Manning’s Pro Bowl replacement rather than the Cowboys’ Tony Romo.
Romo had his best season, finishing with the league’s fourth-highest passer rating (102.5) after throwing for 4,184 yards with 31 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions. But Newton set a rookie record with 4,051 passing yards and an NFL quarterback record with 14 rushing TDs.
And Newton did all that with less talent around him than Romo. Make no mistake: Romo had a great season. But Newton’s work as a rookie was spectacular.
