Since when has it been a crime to wear red sleeves in this country? Well, the answer is never. Not unless your San Francisco 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown.

Brown was pivotal in the 49ers 27-19 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday night. He played in all 65 of SF's defensive snaps and six additional plays on special teams. Unfortunately for him, he also wore red sleeves under his uniform, which is an obvious violation of Rule 5, Section 4, Article 5(a) of the 2012 Official Playing Rules of the NFL, and subsequently has been fined $5,250.

The disgruntled corner broke the news himself by tweeting out an image of the fine letter on Twitter, but has since deleted the tweet. Luckily our man Matt Maiocco over at CSN Bay Area was opportunistic enough to capture the photo on Instagram to ensure it lives on forever.

Brown's teammate, quarterback Alex Smith, was also hit with a fine ($15,000) this week after he donned a San Francisco Giants cap during the postgame press conference. Apparently the NFL isn't too fond of their own player's sporting apparel of competing leagues. But as Keyshawn Johnson would say, "C'Mon Man!"

As popular as the NFL has become, the league is quickly building a reputation for being the 'No Fun League' amongst its players. Continuing to impersonate the fashion police isn't likely to help.
