The negotiations are over: The Cleveland Browns have signed first-round pick Barkevious Mingo to a four-year deal with a team option for the fifth year, the team announced Sunday morning. Mingo is the last 2013 Cleveland draft pick to sign. All rookies are now in training camp, with all players set to make their way to Berea on Friday, July 25. The 22-year-old athletic defensive end/outside linebacker from Louisiana State received over $16 million, a slight increase from the amount given to last year’s No. 6 pick, per multiple media reports. Just on Thursday, it was disconcerting that three Browns rookies still were unsigned, despite the fact they were set to appear at training camp the next day. Then, on Friday afternoon, the team announced that it had reached deals with seventh-round defensive end Armonty Bryant and third-round cornerback Leon McFadden. Mingo was the only piece left. The Akron Beacon Journal’s Nate Ulrich reports on Twitter (link) that Mingo’s deal does contain offset language, which was a contentious point in negotiations. With this team-friendly specification, the Browns will only be responsible for the difference between what it owed Mingo and what he’ll make from a new team if he’s released before the end of his four-year deal. The team shared a picture on Twitter (link) of Mingo signing his contract. According to the Plain Dealer’s Mark Kay Cabot on Twitter (link), the deal was consummated close to 3 a.m. last night since Mingo wanted to be in camp today. Per Yahoo! Sports’ Brian McIntyre on Twitter (link), the Browns became the 20th NFL team to sign all of their 2013 draft picks. [Related: Adding Mingo adds an identity in Berea]
