Mississippi product RB Brandon Bolden was a nice discovery for the New England Patriots this season, but while dealing with a knee injury against the Seattle Seahawks in mid October, his return to the team will be delayed even further. The NFL handed Bolden with a four game suspension for violating the league’s substance policy.
The Patriots announced the suspension on Friday but declined to identify the substance Bolden tested positive for. His suspension starts immediately and he cannot return to the field for the patriots until after the December 2 game. Bolden joined the Patriots this season as an undrafted free agent and posted his breakout game of the season on September 30, posting 137 yards on 16 carries.
Bolden has not played the last two weeks after suffering a knee injury on October 14 and did not practice this week, making it likely that he would not be seeing action this week in a rematch with the Buffalo Bills.
