Could James Jones be the answer to the Dolphins WR problems?
Even after cutting camp darlings Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel, the Green Bay Packers may not be done making changes to their stellar group of Wide Receivers. Rumors have started to swirl about the availability of 6th year man James Jones. While Jones drew little interest just a season ago as a Free Agent, phone lines have rung off the hook in Green Bay with teams desperate for a WR are asking about Jones. If Jones is on the Trade Block, who would be the best fit for him, and is it in the Packers best interest to trade him?
James Jones already has the size (6’1 208 lbs) and speed (4.59) to be a starting WR, he came into camp this year in the best shape of his life, and according to ESPN’s John Clayton was the 2nd best WR in camp after Jordy Nelson. In 2011, Jones served as Green Bay’s No.3 WR, and while his 38 receptions and 635 yards may not be great, his 7 trips to the end zone on only 38 catches is far more impressive. ...

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Now that Packers general manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy have sorted out their 53-man roster for this season, there are still plenty of strengths from a team that finished 15-1 during the 2011 regular season. However, Green Bay fell short of its goal to become back-to-back Super Bowl champions and have a few areas that could be a concern this...

Undrafted rookie Jarrett Boykin survived the final round of cuts to become the sixth wide receiver on the Green Bay Packers' roster on Friday.
Wide receivers Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel, who turned down spots on other teams' active rosters last year to stay on the Packers' practice squad, were among the 18 players released by the team.

The Green Bay Packers completed their 2012 preseason schedule last evening at Lambeau Field, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 24-3 and ending with a 2-2 record. It was, as any Packer fan would hope, a sign that things are coming together on offense and defense. Now, to be honest, the number one unit on both offense and defense looked a bit spotty in their play. Didn't do much of...
Don Barclay and Evan Dietrich-Smith are the only backup offensive linemen on the roster
GM Ted Thompson’s decision to keep only seven offensive linemen is highly unusual, but the number itself really isn’t a big deal. Remember, the Packers dressed only seven offensive linemen throughout last season. So the problem isn’t keeping only two backups. The problem is who the two backups...
The Packers' final preseason game was an opportunity for the 75 players still on the team to show what they can do. While evaluating the younger players, Green Bay simply needed to leave Lambeau Field without any serious injuries. Assuming that the ankle injury suffered by defensive lineman B.J. Raji is not serious, which it does not appear to be, the Packers left in good shape...
