According to CSN Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Eagles are in talks with quarterback Dennis Dixon. Signing Dixon would reunite the former Heisman Trophy hopeful with his college coach and I believe the move comes as a good fit for the Eagles going forward. Dixon spent time on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad this season and would mimic mobile quarterbacks on the Ravens scout team this season. In preparation for Super Bowl XLVII, Dixon played the role of Colin Kaepernick for the Ravens defense. Despite claims from rookie head coach Chip Kelly that he will not try to run the exact same offense he ran at the University of Oregon in the NFL, the addition of Dixon, a quarterback familiar with the verbiage of his offense could be nothing less than beneficial. Dixon was considered by many as a Heisman Trophy candidate before suffering an ACL injury during his senior season.
