It seems as if Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are trying to put the band back together. Monte Kiffin, Rod Marinelli, Bill Callahan and now possibly, the Cowboys are reportedly negotiating a buyout of the contract for special teams coach Rich Bisaccia. What do these coaches all have in common? Jon Gruden. Coincidence? Perhaps. Bisaccia served as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers special teams coach for nine years and served on Gruden’s staff during their Super Bowl XXXVII season. Kiffin served as Gruden’s defensive coordinator while Marinelli coached the Buccaneers defensive line. Gruden worked together with Callahan in Oakland and replaced him as Oakland’s head coach after Gruden was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It could be that Marinelli and Bisaccia came highly recommended by Kiffin and that is why the moves are being made. Or could it be that the team is slowly assembling a coaching staff that they can ease Jon Gruden into as the head coach? I have absolutely nothing to base th...

Jon Gruden: Set to be the Dallas Cowboys Next Head Coach?

Will we see Jon Gruden on the sidelines for the Dallas Cowboys in 2014? Is Jon Gruden set to be the next Dallas Cowboys head coach should Jason Garrett suffer through another year of mediocrity and disappointment? Well, consider the facts and then you tell me. After the bitter season-ending loss to the Redskins, which mired Jerry’s kids in a second consecutive 8–8 season, Jones...

Cowboys are strapped for cash, need help from Romo

Odds of the Dallas Cowboys signing that key 2013 NFL Free agent that will instantly help them make it over the hump are very slim. If fact, it might not even be possible. The Cowboys are $26 million over the salary cap and have to restructure and release several players in order to just break even. As of December, the Cowboys had $132 million tied up in cap space on 44 players and...

Changes for Garrett and a Tampa flavor

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Bill Callahan is being elevated to the position of offensive playcaller for the 2013 season. And whether you view that as castrating strip of responsibilities of head coach Jason Garrett or the offering of some help for an overloaded young coach that frees Garrett to be a "walk-around'' head coach really depends on whether you are...

Should Cowboys players feel comfortable?

Jerry Jones promised this would be an "uncomfortable" off-season at Valley Ranch, and so far he has lived up to that pledge on the coaching side. Can he do the same with the players? The short answer: Not nearly as much. The salary cap makes roster churning difficult and complex. Also, a nearly across-the-board lack of quality depth also means nearly every roster decision...

Recent Auburn hire headed to Cowboys instead

The Dallas Cowboys have hired Rich Bisaccia as special teams coach three weeks after he joined the Auburn staff in a similar capacity. New Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said Friday that Bisaccia had ''an offer that he felt he could not turn down'' after the Tigers hired him to coach running backs and special teams on Jan. 3. The Cowboys reported their hiring on the team...

Jay Ratliff reportedly meets with Jerry Jones after DWI arrest

According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones met with defensive tackle Jay Ratliff after being arrested for driving while intoxicated earlier in the week. Jones left practices for the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Wednesday as scheduled and discussed the arrest with Ratliff at the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch complex. Ratliff’s agent, Mark Slough...

Jason Garrett Says Lack Of Turnovers Led To Rob Ryan Being Fired

Jerry Jones promised an off-season of change for the Dallas Cowboys, and changes have been made.  One major change was at defensive coordinator where Rob Ryan was fired and replaced by Monte Kiffin. After the firing, no excuse was actually given for the change until now.  Per ESPN Dallas, Jason Garrett says the change was made because the Cowboys didn’t produce enough turnovers...

Players to watch at the Senior Bowl

Today is the Senior Bowl, and the Cowboys will have plenty of talent to look at, one last time in action before the NFL Combine. The Cowboys have had some luck drafting players they scouted at the Senior Bowl. In 2011, DeMarco Murray and Dwayne Harris were players we plucked from that year. And perhaps the best Senior Bowl Alumnist is DeMarcus Ware. Can the Cowboys pluck out another...
