It was an exciting week of football, starting with an explosive showing by the ageless veteran Peyton Manning. And while all eyes were on the Baltimore Ravens-Denver Broncos rematch of the 2013 AFC Divisional Playoffs to usher in the new NFL season, for once, it seemed that the NFL community also had their radar on Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.
Wilson deserves such attention, especially after his unexpected, breakout rookie season last year. Though his talents are sometimes recognized, he is often overshadowed by other quarterbacks in his class, like Robert Griffin III (RG3), Andrew Luck and Colin Kaepernick*.
*Though this is Kaepernick’s third season in the NFL, last year was his first as a starting QB, similar to Wilson, and thus they are often grouped together and compared.
Let’s take a look at how Wilson stacked up against his peers this week.

As much as ESPN and NFL.com want you to think otherwise, quarterbacks who can make plays on their feet are nothing new to the game of football. 100 years ago when football was in it’s youth, the quarterback we’ve come to know today was really just another running back. Forward passing wasn’t even a big part of the game until a while later. And even then, when pocket quarter...
Ladies and Gentlemen Peyton Manning is now a happy mood changing strain of weed. That’s right Peter Burns shared the news that the Colorado marijuana dispensary is selling this mood altering strain of weed named after Manning.
Most athletes can’t say that they’ve broke records and had a form of weed named after them so this is a pretty big deal for Manning.

Russell Wilson threw only 10 interceptions in 16 regular-season games as a rookie, a few of them the result of a hit as he threw, a slipping wide receiver or a pass off the hands of his target.
But whereas many see the Seattle Seahawks' quarterback as one of the better caretakers of the football, Donte' Whitner sees a guy who gives the defense a chance to make a play.
To cap off a great sports weekend, we have the San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. In a new Madden commercial, Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson gave us yet another reason to get excited about this one by making a bet that whoever loses has to shave an eyebrow.
The way the 49ers looked against the Packers, “all Russell Wilson everything” might want to start lining up barbers.

Russell Wilson scrambled for his life, Marshawn Lynch could not find running room, and the Seattle defense could not stop Kevin Kolb from scoring the winning touchdown. That was last year. Tarvaris Jackson was battered with five sacks, Lynch could not find running room, and the Seattle special teams gave up two kick returns...

(via Getty Image)Your Sean Taylor Memorial Meast for Week 1 is Peyton Manning. A lot of members of the media are relentlessly eager to laud Peyton for just about anything, so we’re usually a bit resistant to join in, but it’s hard to deny him after he tied an NFL record by throwing seven touchdown passes in a game, not to mention in the season opener against the defending Super...
If you are like me, you probably have pinch marks all over your body caused by disbelief. Between the Eagles breakout performance, upsets galore and Fantasy surprises, there was a lot of drama to soak in. While not necessarily a surprise, Peyton Manning changed the game this week both in real life and fantasy life and it was a mad scramble to scoop up any offensive player wearing...
On Monday, Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski spoke to the media about the team’s opening game against the Dolphins.
In context, he was being asked about the players’ mentality given the history of losing opening day games and the seasons that seemed to slip away following them.
“This is a new time and a new team. Anything else is just noise out there.”
For fans of the team...
