If there were ever a perfect time to use “shots fired” for something, this is it.
The NFLPA executive committee posted a letter on the NFLPA’s website on Sunday that literally fired shots left and right at NFL owners and Roger Goodell. In the letter, you’ll see that the executive committee pretty much fells the same way you do about the replacement referees. It speaks of the embarrassment, the poor calls, the missed calls, the bad game management, and even uses the word “scab”.
Here’s the full letter so you can see just how many shots were fired.

RE: Your Lockout of the NFL Referees and the Negative Impact on Football
The NFL Players Association Executive Committee is calling on you to end the lockout of our referees. We believe there is substantial evidence that you have failed in your obligation to provide as safe a working environment as possible.
Your decision to lock out officials with more than 1,...
BEST OF MAXIM
It's no surprise to see NFL players kicking away at Roger Goodell, an attack by Twitter, mostly. If you've seen enough prison movies, then you know how it goes: The warden portrays himself as righteous, but really is just making sure the prisoners are broken into submission to help him get what he wants. You can't wait for the comeuppance.
Goodell is no Warden Norton...
Roger Goodell is known as the most powerful man in sports. Being the commissioner of the most popular sport in the United States will give you that title, but it also comes with a lot of criticism. Goodell has often said his job in relation the National Football League is to act as the “protecting shield”, meaning his job is to protect the integrity of the game of football and...
I consider myself to be a hardcore NFL fan. I will be watching the games no matter what the NFL does. This is still ridiculous. The regular referees aren't perfect by far, and there is usually a blown call or two, but at least they are consistent. Some illegal contact/pass interference penalties in the Patriots-Ravens game took place at the line of scrimmage, while multiple...
The NFL gambled on replacement officials this year. The NFL crapped out in dramatic fashion on Monday Night Football. The National Football League is now a national joke. Time for the NFL to back down or commissioner Roger Goodell to step down.
One politician let his feelings be known after the wild ending of the Seattle Seahawks' 14-12 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.
Wisconsin State Senator Jon Erpenbach tweeted NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's office phone number after the replacement officials mishandled the final play of the game. Seattle's Golden Tate pushed one Green Bay defender out...
Fail Mary? The Inaccurate Reception? A Game Winning Touchception?
Those are some of the descriptions used after the Hail Mary pass that allegedly won the game for the Seattle Seahawks Monday night….and a great idea for a Snickers ‘Wanna Get Away’ commercial.
Wisconsin State Senator Jon Erpenbach was so upset with the call that he tweeted out NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s...
Professional football's Dow Jones dropped 1,000 points at Monday night's closing bell, the moment in-over-their-heads replacement refs handed the Seahawks an undeserved victory over the Packers.
If you never understood the ingredients that created the Wall Street subprime-mortgage financial collapse of 2008, the NFL is three weeks into an entry-level course that explains...
In the wake of the latest and most public gaffe made by the NFL's replacement officials, we've heard lots of things about what NFL players can or might do to protest not just the call that decided the Green Bay-Seattle game but the plethora of questionable calls we've seen in the first three weeks.
Late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, depending on where you were...
And video that had NFL commish Roger Goodell pissing on people while dressed as an emperor AND destroys Skip Bayless + Stephen A. Smith is worth a view.
Still think the LFL release is a scam...

These days, you can’t have a cause celebre in the sports world without the folks at Next Media Animation applying their skewed version of reality to it. No complaints here. Anything that features toddler Kyle Shanaham using flame breath on a scab ref is all right by me. As expected, the Taiwanese animators weighed in on the scab ref fiasco. The result is a video that features...
According to Judy Batista of the New York Times, even though Monday night’s football game was a complete mess when it came to how the replacement officials handled the game, “the NFL owners are dug in and opposed to further compromise.”
Both the NFL and the officials union have been meeting and working on getting everything worked out, but it looks like we’ve hit another...
As the debate rages on as to just how horrifying the impact of the replacement refs (and the “Inaccurate Reception“) have been to the NFL and its brand, and as the league meets with the NFLRA for the fourth consecutive day with hopes of reaching a settlement and ending the madness, we thought it important to take a step back and at least look at what are keeping the two sides...
Week 3 is over and everything is on fire. What was a disgusting but potentially survivable ordeal on Sunday night instantly became the nightmare scenario and ultimate comeuppance for Roger Goodell on Monday night. The man got owned by the Lingerie Football League. People all calling for the league office to mandate a reversal of the result. People are calling for The Rog’s head...
