Seattle Seahawks rookie QB Russell Wilson got his chance to start against the Kansas City Chiefs, and shall we say, he did not waste his opportunity.

Wilson shredded the Chiefs' defense for 185 yard and 2 TDs on their way to a 44-14 victory. The surprising Seahawks are undefeated in the preseason, with wins against the Titans, Broncos and now the Chiefs.

He completed 13 of 19 passes for 185 yards, averaging 9.7 yards per pass, and made quite a case for himself to emerge as the starter. Per head coach Pete Caroll ont eh team's website:

“He’s done everything we’ve asked him. When John (Schneider, the GM) was excited about drafting him and we got the momentum going to make that pick, this is guy we hoped that he would be.”

And Wilson sounds as focused as he can be:

“I just try to relax as much as I can – relax my mind, just play football. I prepare myself in every way possible. I get there early. I leave late. I try to always mentally prepare myself and visualize being successful.”

QB Tarvaris Jackson also saw the field, but Matt Flynn did not due to a sore elbow. With trade reports still circulating about Jackson and with Flynn's injury, we'll most likely see Wilson starting in their final preseason game, and maybe beyond.
