Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha believes he could have worked with Asante Samuel on excelling as a part of the Philadelphia defense. Samuel was traded to the Falcons last month for a late-round draft pick. Asomugha signed with the Eagles before the 2011 season. The pair only played one season together. "I thought it could have worked, and I still think it could've worked," Asomugha said. "Everybody keeps saying that, you know, 'No, it can't work, you three, blah blah blah. ' I still thought it could've worked, even coming into this season. Asante and I would talk about it through the offseason, like, we can fix this. ... Now we've got another year under our belt; now we've got time; and then he's gone. So now it's like you don't get that chance to put it back out there. But, you know, it's whatever, and he's happy with where he is."

Where does Mike Vick place in the top 100 players of 2012?

Another Philadelphia Eagles player has made the NFL Network’s list of the top 100 players of 2012. But like teammates DeSean Jackson and Nnamdi Asomugha, named earlier in the list, this player saw a major in drop in where his name appeared. Quarterback Mike Vick was named the 20th best player in the league last year. On this year’s list, he fell 50 spots to number 70. The primary...

Philadelphia Eagles: LeSean McCoy Gets Paid Because the Man is Money

LeSean McCoy became a rich man on Thursday, signing a five-year extension worth $45 million with $20.765 million guaranteed.  That averages out to be just over $1 million of guaranteed money per touchdown McCoy scored in 2011. Simply put, McCoy got paid because the man is money. Couldn't resist this pic! Photo: philly.barstoolsports.com In 2011, he put himself in the elite category...

Getty Images Now that Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has received the long-term extension he was looking for–in an interview with the NFL Network (via ProFootballtalk.com), he made it clear that never even thought about holding out for a new contract. “I just waited it out,” McCoy said. “I was never thinking about holding out, or never thinking, ‘Oh, this...

LeSean McCoy Inks Contract Extension With Eagles

Philadelphia may not be spending as much money on free agents this season, but the Eagles have still found ways to open their wallet. Thursday, they offered a five year extension to RB LeSean McCoy worth $45 million. Cam Newton will leave us saying Michael who?

It’s hard to look at Cam Newton’s success with the Carolina Panthers and not try to compare him to Michael Vick. No other quarterback in the league can do what Newton can do with both his arm and his feet but Newton has qualities that are already setting him apart from Vick. The most obvious

McCoy Deal Cements Excellent Eagles Offseason

Yesterday I was asked this question: “What universe are we in?” To which I replied, “Hopefully one in which we win.” It was a simple question brought about by extraordinary circumstances. Those circumstances now lend themselves toward the most anticipated Eagles season since 2005, a year after they lost the Super Bowl to the New England Patriots and appeared poised to bring...

5-year, $45 million deal for LeSean McCoy

Following the draft, the biggest offseason priority for the Philadelphia Eagles was to sign Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy. And that important step happened on Thursday, when the 23-year old signing a 5-year, $45 million contract ($20.765 guaranteed). There was none of the drama or acrimony that surrounded DeSean Jackson’s extension. McCoy stayed quiet, trusted a new deal...

Eagles QB Michael Vick Running 'Hitch' Pattern On June 30th

Michael Vick is ready for a hitch route, not the pass pattern, the marriage pattern. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback will marry longtime fiancée Kijafa Frank on June 30 at the Fontainblieau in Miami Beach, according to the New York Post. Per the report, the party will include 300 guests. So, Vick has got some important stuff to tend to before training camp kicks off. Source...

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy Is Modern Day Marshall Faulk.

The Philadelphia Eagles decision to sign pro bowl running back LeSean McCoy to a new five-year $45 million contract extension with over $20 guaranteed, was not only smart, it was genius. When looking at what McCoy brings to table, it is hard to think of a more talented running back currently playing in the NFL, yet McCoy’s deal pales in comparison to that of Adrian Peterson...

Philadelphia Eagles Face a Season of No Excuses

Last year right around this time, the Philadelphia Eagles had just completed what most presumed to be one of their more successful free agency periods in the Andy Reid era. The rash of premier talent signed to the team including (DE) Jason Babin, (CB) Nnamdi Asomugha, (CB) Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and (DT) Cullen Jenkins was perfectly executed, again leading many to claim...

Philadelphia Eagles on Yeremiah Bell’s Narrowed List

The Philadelphia Eagles have again enjoyed a successful offseason signing key players at critical positions. After Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters ended his 2012 season before it started Philly brass added Demetress Bell formerly of the Buffalo Bills. They added Pro Bowl linebacker DeMeco Ryans via a trade with the Houston Texans. Finally, the Eagles look as though they had...
