Another day of wide receiver Percy Harvin will-he or won’t-he has passed. Friday’s episode is likely to be a repeat. Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Harvin’s status remains “day to day” as they feel out how Harvin is doing in his first week back at practice since Aug. 1 hip surgery that put him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. “We’ll just go one day at a time and we’ll keep saying it because that’s really the truth,” Carroll said. “It’s a day-to-day, almost a drill-to-drill kind of situation to see if we’re managing him properly. “It would be great to see him play this weekend, but that’s not part of what we’re counting. We just want to see what happens (Thursday) and see if he can get through it and go to him (Friday) and find out and take in the information; try and make a really good decision. “I won’t know really until Monday, I would think. Unless, we learn something earlier.” Harvin spent two years in Minnesota with Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who held the same job with the Vikings. Bevell had Harvin and Seahawks receiver Sidney Rice, who also played two years with Harvin in Minnesota, together then. He’s watching and working Harvin back in like everyone else. “I’m not sure what his role is going to be yet,” Bevell said. “I know what we’d like to do, I know what he brings.” Rice is a locker over from Harvin. He knows what to expect. “Electricity,” Rice said. “He’s been a big-play guy. Takes the top off the defense. It’s hard to cover a guy that’s that explosive and fast in the slot.” When the Seahawks will first be able to employ those skills is still unknown.
