What is a fair price for acquiring Darrelle Revis from the Jets? Is a first round pick as well as others? Is it this year’s picks? Next year’s?  This has been largely discussed for over a month now and some still worry about his ACL injury. I too have talked with many about this while also admitting that even with the injury the Bucs — or the Jets — should still pull the trigger on the trade. PewterReport.com’s Scott Reynolds lists his 24 reasons why the Bucs should trade for Darrelle Revis. Reason No. 4 in his article is the interesting one. 4. There isn’t a single cornerback in the draft better than Revis in terms of talent. There won’t be a better cornerback available with the 13th overall pick – not even Alabama’s Dee Milliner. Is a first- and second-round pick too much of an investment in a Pro Bowl cornerback? Absolutely not. Many will disagree with Reynolds’ view of the potential compensation for Revis. While I may be on the fence about giving up a first and a second round pick — this year’s or next year’s, the uncertainty of a player or two that you will be drafting carry risks as well. The Bucs should ultimately make the trade. Whether Revis is 100% or not, he is an instant upgrade. Not just for them but for any team. It is not only his skills and ability as a great cornerback, but the respect he demands from opposing quarterbacks. The question Mark Dominik may be contemplating is what’s listed above in Scott Reynolds’ piece. Does he give up several picks for a proven All-Pro and former defensive player of the year? Or does he stand his ground and draft a player that may never pan out? To read all of the 24 reasons for the Bucs to make the trade for Revis from PewterReport.com, click here.
