Game one of the National Football League is in the books, and if you ever need a quick pop quiz about the 2012 campaign you can always ask your friends “which player was targeted in the first pass of the `12 NFL season and then caught the first pass as well”. Being that this is a North Carolina football and basketball blog the answer should be pretty easy: Hakeem Nicks. But there was a lot more than just those two plays in this game and below you will find the information on both the game and the former UNC players in it…

What the media said about the game…

ESPN *~* Sports Illustrated *~* Sporting News *~* CBS Sports *~* Fox Sports *~* NFL.com

Box Score | Play by Play | Drive Chart

For the Dallas Cowboys…

LB Bruce Carter #54 (6’2″/240 lbs) ~ 24 Years old ~ 2 Years Exp
Roster Position: 2nd on the Depth Chart @ LILB

FS Gerald Sensabaugh #43 (6’0″/212 lbs) ~ 29 Years old ~ 8 Years Exp
Roster Position: 1st on the Depth Chart @ FS

[For more information on the Dallas Cowboys check out isportsweb's coverage here]

For the New York Giants…

DT Marvin Austin #96 (6’2″/312 lbs) ~ 23 Years old ~ 2 Years Exp
Roster Position: 2nd on Depth Chart @ LDT

The defensive tackle did not play as he has been hampered with back pains

WR Hakeem Nicks #88 (6’1″/208 lbs) ~ 24 Years old ~ 4 Years Exp
Roster Position: 1st on Depth Chart @ LWR

And that is it for yesterday’s single game. From what the media said about the game as a whole, to what the former North Carolina players did on the field, to the overall stats of the game. Now the focus for the Carolina fan base will be back on what head coach Larry Fedora will be up to when his squad faces Wake Forest this Saturday, then it will be back on the former UNC players as the NFL pulls out its full schedule on Sunday. And I will try to stay on top of all of it, as well as any going ons with the basketball side of things, right here on isportsweb!
