Found July 29, 2011 on Fox Sports:
--QB Kolton Browning tied a school record last year by throwing for over 200 yards in eight consecutive games. His 2.937 yards in total offense ranked third all-time by a freshman in NCAA history. --ULM's kicking game looks questionable despite the return of both specialists. Senior PK Radi Jabour was 8-of-10 on field goals but lacks leg strength. His season-long was 42 yards, and he had three PAT attempts blocked. Sophomore P Aaron Munoz, who doubles as a backup quarterback, averaged only 38.6 yards per attempt. --ULM is installing a new scoreboard with a high definition video display in Malone Stadium. The board will feature nearly 1,600 square feet of video space, including a 23 feet x 49 area for video and 450 square feet of advertising space. SPOTLIGHT ON SEPTEMBER: Hard to imagine things being tougher than a year ago when the Warhawks went to Arkansas and eventual national champion Auburn in the first month of the 2010 season, but they are. The Warhawks go on the road for three of their first four games, opening with a trip to Florida State on Sept. 3. After a home game against Grambling State, the Warhawks are back on the road for their next two at TCU and Iowa. KEYS TO SUCCESS: The Warhawks need to add a consistent running game to what should be an effective passing attack led by QB Kolton Browning and a solid corps of receivers. The interior line is a veteran unit and needs to avoid getting too banged up in the first month. The Warhawks have the ability to put pressure on opposing passers with the likes of LB Cameron Blakes and DE Ken Dorsey. AREAS OF CONCERN: Depth is thin at running back, where sophomore RB Jyruss Edwards is the only returnee with much in the way of experience. Coaches did some juggling in the secondary when veteran S Robert Nelson was dismissed before the spring. The main concern will be not getting too beat up in the season's first month. QUOTE TO NOTE: "We've got a lot of answers this year where last year we had a lot of questions at this time." -- Coach Todd Berry, on the impact of the number of returning starters for 2011.
