The starters will probably only play a series or two in a game that is meaningless to the standings, but if you're reading this here blog on the day before the preseason opener, chances are you'll watch all four quarters.
Here are some offensive players to keep an eye on after the starters leave the field:
LT Doug Free: He's the lone backup offensive lineman who might be able to develop into a starter. Free, a 2007 fourth-round pick with good feet, has had a solid camp after taking a step back last season. His preseason performance could have a major impact on the Cowboys' draft plans. If Free doesn't provide hope that he can be Flozell Adams' replacement in the not-too-distant future, the Cowboys will probably have to use a premium pick on a left tackle.
Stephen McGee: Barring disaster, McGee won't play a down during the regular season, but he'll probably get the most preseason snaps of the Cowboys' quarterbacks. It's a chance for McGee to...
