Found December 18, 2011 on Shutdown Corner:
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning had three interceptions on Sunday as part of the Giants' staunch refusal to win or even represent themselves with any pride. Washington Redskins safety O.J. Atogwe came up with this one, the prettiest of the bunch. Maybe the prettiest one on any NFL field all season long. Rex Grossman, because he's Rex Grossman, also threw two interceptions, but the Giants couldn't do anything with them. The Redskins were more physical across the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball, all day long. The Redskins, with nothing to play for, while the Giants still have everything to play for, looked very much like the team that needed the win.

Mike Shanahan: Rex Grossman not entirely to blame for flea-flicker pick

Washington Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman threw an interception on a failed flea-flicker on the first play of Sunday’s game against the Giants. But on Monday – 24 hours removed from Washington’s 23-10 victory – coach Mike Shanahan said all the blame shouldn’t fall on Grossman. Grossman took the snap at his own 18-yard line and handed it off to running back Roy Helu,...

Giants Fans: Proud to Be or Not to Be – that is the Question

The 2011 New York Giants football season can be summed up with one word – nauseating. As a lifelong fan and season ticket holder, it is hard to remember a year with such drama each and every Sunday.  Never is a deficit too large when Eli Manning is at the helm, but with this porous defense, no lead is ever safe.  Even after throwing a critical interception against the Cowboys...

Is the New York Giants season finished after losing to Redskins?

Amid a chorus of boos from the crowd on Sunday, the New York Giants dropped a home game to divisional foe Washington Redskins 23-10, you know have to wonder if the season is now finished for the New York Giants this season. With the loss to the Redskins, the Giants now move out of first place in the NFC East race and a trip to the playoffs now is in serious jeopardy...

Week 15 Fantasy Football Recap: Redskins vs. Giants

Washington Redskins – 23, New York Giants – 10 Not quite the shocker of the Packers-Chiefs game, but this one was a bit of a surprise in its own right.  Rex Grossman (185 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs) and the Redskins went into the New Meadowlands and crushed the Giants’ postseason hopes.  Of course,Eli Manning’s (257 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs) implosion had a lot to do with that, as...

Tuesday Morning Quarterback: Week 15 Edition

Did Sunday cost the New York Giants the playoffs? With the Dallas Cowboys winning Saturday, the G-Men had to keep pace. Fortunately the Giants were playing a weak 4-9 Redskin team…or not. The Giants only put up 10 and the Skins threw up 23. Even with the Giants having the leading passer (Eli Manning, 257 yards) and the leading rusher (Ahmad Bradshaw, 58 yards); they still tanked...

In This Season of Giving, Giants Don’t Give Fans Much to Cheer About

By Jon Wagner On the Sunday before Hanukkah and Christmas, the New York Giants inexplicably played flatter than potato pancakes and ginger bread cookies. Yet, even more incredibly, they still control their own playoff destiny after losing for the fifth time in six games during the second half of the regular season. Only now, there’s no more room for error, as New York (7-7) must...

Vikings hope to get right against Redskins

This week, the Vikings move from the impressively efficient style of the New Orleans Saints' offense to the ordinarily average Washington Redskins. After Drew Brees and the Saints' passing offense lit up the Vikings for 573 total net yards, including 412 in the air, the Vikings' secondary that is looking for any glimmer of positive news should be able to find some success...

Redskins' Donté Stallworth making the cut as a trusty third-down option

Donté Stallworth has made a handful of catches to convert third downs in recent weeks. Not bad for a guy the Washington Redskins cut last month. Since the Redskins re-signed Stallworth on Nov. 15 after waiving him a week earlier, quarterback Rex Grossman has relied on him when the Redskins ...

Giants Headed for Disaster After 23-10 Loss

If the New York Giants miss the playoffs once again, they have only themselves and the Washington Redskins to blame.   Rex Grossman threw a touchdown pass and the Redskins put a major hurt on the Giants and their playoff hopes with a dominating 23-10 victory Sunday in a game in which New York showed little desire with much on the line.   "I'm very disappointed in how we...
