Fox Sports Wisconsin:
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- No fan had ever been allowed to Lambeau Leap during a Packers game ... until Sunday night.
At halftime of Green Bay's win over the Detroit Lions, Cory Uttech was introduced to the 70,000-plus fans in attendance -- one of which was comedy superstar Will Ferrell -- and made his leap into the front row at Lambeau Field.
"It doesn't get much better than that," Uttech said. "It's hard to even describe. I never would've expected to get this chance. It's unbelievable. I couldn't have asked for a better day."
Uttech, 30, won the Lambeau Leap Sweepstakes after out-leaping nine other finalists in an audition Nov. 20. Those 10 finalists were randomly selected, but then, after getting some training and tips from Packers wide receiver James Jones, Uttech was voted as the winner.
"Other than my kids being born, it was the best day of my life," Uttech said.
Uttech and three guests were given club seats to the game, sideline passes, a game ball, a customized jersey and a hotel stay. The four of them even got to watch the final 10 minutes of the second quarter right from the field.
"Being on the sidelines when the game was playing, when Mike Daniels recovered the fumble for the touchdown, just to be down there for that, that place was roaring," Uttech said. "That's a memory I'll never forget."
It wasn't as simple as Uttech just running and jumping into the stands, either. He was given a full introduction on the stadium speakers as the drum line began to play. And, to his surprise, the crowd was anticipating his leap into history as the first fan to have that opportunity.
"I didn't expect the crowd to care," Uttech said. "I thought most would be in the bathroom. I didn't think people would be excited about it. I raised my arms up a little bit to pump up the crowd and it gave me shivers. It was pretty awesome. I never expected it to be like that.
"I don't think it gets any better. It was over the top, it really was."

The home stretch, the final sprint, the final turn, whatever racing metaphor you want to use, the Green Bay Packers are near the end of the season and have some work they need to do before it’s over.
The first game is the big one. The Packers will take on the Bears and if they win, the Packers will take the division. Even if the Packers lose they can still win the division...
What did we learn last night during the Lions-Packers game? Aaron Rodgers wears a thong during games. We also learned that Lambeau Field has a heating system that will melt snow on impact. This has to be one of the big travesties in NFL history. It’ll take a blizzard to ever have a snow game at Lambeau.
So long, Frozen Tundra.
[Packers' frozen-tundra mystique melts with turf...
For the second week in a row the Green Bay Packers used a strong second half to secure a victory, this time it was against the Detroit Lions.
It was a snowy night in Lambeau Field, but the adverse weather conditions didn’t slow down the Lions at first. After the opening drive, the Lions jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead after a 12 play, 80-yard drive.
With a chance to even the score...
Last fall, Green Bay Packers fan Jennifer Brilowski of Stevens Point, Wis., started a push on her Facebook page to turn Dec. 12, 2012, into Aaron Rodgers Day. More than a year later, she'll get the chance Wednesday to celebrate what has turned into an officially recognized event by the state of Wisconsin with Packers fans everywhere and by Rodgers himself.
Only Rodgers doesn...
When the Green Bay Packers were sitting at a 2-3 record with an offense that seemed to be sputtering and looking up at the rest of the NFC North, many began to write their 2012 season eulogy already. Since then, the Pack has won seven of eight, including knocking off the top seed in the AFC with a “got our mojo back” performance in Houston on Sunday Night Football; the Texans’...
So as the season winds down I slowly lose my mind. Nowhere is this more evident than in me referencing a Grease song. I haven’t even seen the dang thing and, no, I don’t have to. There are only two musicals I’ll subject myself to. One is Rocky Horror Picture Show and the other is Little Shop of Horrors. Steve Martin as a rebellious, jet black-haired, sadistic dentist...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- So many aspects of the NFL are changing. Defensive players are being penalized and fined for what only a couple years ago would have been considered clean and legal hits, rookie quarterbacks are transitioning seamlessly from college without needing any years of learning on the bench and its possible that kickoffs could soon be eliminated from the league entirely...
The weather forecast holds promise.
Dreaming of a White Packers home game is now almost wished upon as much as a White Christmas.
Not that a White Christmas is a huge necessity; at least a Christmas without snow ensures getting to Grandma’s and back safely.
But white-out Packers games become instant memories.
Sadly, it doesn’t seem to happen as often these days – damn global...
Balance was the word of the day for the Green Bay Packers on a snowy night at Lambeau Field.
A breakdown of 32 rushing plays compared to 24 passing plays helped the Packers (9-4) overcome the Detroit Lions by the score of 27-20.
Even the famous and tremendously funny Will Ferrell was digging the Packers on this night with his winter knit Packers cap and a performance of “Roll Out...
Two Green Bay Packer rookies scored touchdowns leading to a 27-20 victory over the Detroit Lions Sunday night, marking the 22nd straight year Detroit has lost in Wisconsin versus Green Bay."I was thinking this would be a waste of a beautiful day, to end that streak," Rodgers said. "Playing in the snow, a great crowd. Hopefully we can keep that (streak) going as long...
Packer Report takes a quick-hitting look back at the Packers' 27-20 victory over the Lions on Sunday night. The key to the game was Mike Daniels' touchdown. The numbers include one player chasing history and another whose chase has ended.
