GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
During Green Bay's win over the New Orleans Saints last weekend, Jennings aggravated the groin injury he initially suffered in Week 1 and left the game early. Jennings missed Week 2, and the two-time Pro Bowl selection has only 12 catches for 78 yards in three games.
It's uncommon for a team to rule out a player Thursday, but coach Mike McCarthy said he felt it was best to shut down Jennings for the week.
On Wednesday, Jennings, who will be seeking a lucrative long-term contract after this season, talked about his frustration with a season that has included the groin injury and a lengthy absence with a concussion in the preseason.
"I'm trying to not let it completely overtake me and let it become overwhelming," he said.
