The Packers have made some moves to shore up their wide receiver position by claiming wide receiver Chris Harper off of waivers from the San Francisco 49ers.
The news comes courtesy of Fansided.com
Harper was released by the Seahawks on their final cutdown in early September and picked up by the 49ers. Harper, 6-1, 228 pounds, is similar in build to Charles Johnson, the wide receiver recently claimed off of the Packers practice squad by the Cleveland Browns.
Harper was productive in college. In three seasons at Kansas State, Harper caught 122 balls for 1,725 yards and 12 touchdowns.
It is difficult to envision Harper getting playing time this week with so little preparation, and it is unclear at this point if Harper is going to be stashed on the practice squad or if he will be placed on the active roster. The team would have to cut someone to make room for him if that is the case.
Harper is a fourth round draft pick rookie, so there is not a lot of film of him to go off of at the NFL level. We hope that he does well with the Pack as the team rushes to find wide receivers.
