Pro Football Zone:
Green Bay Packers tight end D.J. Williams may have the most unusual offseason work out routine of any football player ever. Believe it or not, he says that he wrestles cows to stay in shape during the offseason.
“I wrestle cows every day,” Williams said. “Back home in Arkansas, we don’t have anything else to do.”
Williams said that having roommates that were from the country got him into cow wrestling.
“I just roomed with a whole bunch of country people in college. Nothing else to do,” Williams said, before adding that cow-wrestling is a great way to woo members of the opposite sex.
“It’s very impressive. Usually, you say, ‘Let’s go cow tipping’ and they feel it’s a good rush when the cows start chasing you and stuff. They think it’s to impress them, but I’m really working on my football stuff at the same time. Two birds, one stone.”
I guess a player has to do what a player has to do in order to be the best they can be in a competitive sport like football.

When the Green Bay Packers decided not to re-sign veteran running back Ryan Grant in the offseason, they didn't quite know if one of his potential replacements would be ready for the start of the upcoming season.
But Alex Green appears to be a fast healer.

GREEN BAY, Wis. It was almost too easy. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' high-scoring, pass-first, multi-threat offense were nearly unstoppable throughout most of last season. Rodgers seemed capable of executing Green Bay's scheme while methodically spreading his passes around to whichever receiver he wanted. At times, the ease with which he did so made it appear as if Rodgers...

John Kuhn had an unidentified procedure done on his right knee late last month. The veteran fullback first injured the knee in the Packers’ playoff loss to the Giants in January. “It was just not as good as we’d like it (after minicamp),” Kuhn told the Press-Gazette. “It’s something I could have played with the [...]
GREEN BAY, Wis. One of the most competitive position battles taking place in Packers training camp is to see which cornerback wins the starting outside spot on the opposite side of proven veteran Tramon Williams.
After three training camp practices, seventh-year player Jarrett Bush appears to be in the lead by a relatively significant margin. Sam Shields, who had a very good rookie...
GREEN BAY, Wis. As the Packers put on pads Saturday for the first time this season on Day 3 of training camp practices, there were a few important players missing.
Wide receiver Greg Jennings was out with an elbow bruise, an injury he suffered during Friday's practice. But coach Mike McCarthy wasn't too concerned about Jennings' status going forward.
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- When former USC running back Marc Tyler went undrafted in April, signing a free-agent contract with the Green Bay Packers just made sense. As Green Bay was expressing interest in Tyler the moment the draft concluded, so were the Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders. After Friday’s practice, Jerel Worthy’s praises were being sung. After Saturday’s practice, Mike Daniels got some attention. Head coach Mike McCarthy likes what he sees thus far in two rookies in an effort to put some “juice” back in the Packers' defensive line.
