PLAYERS: Dan Orlovsky

Some have made the claim recently that Orlvosky has played at a level Curtis Painter is not capable of. I believe Painter not only played at that level, but surpassed it. Painter's play was never the same after the New Orleans game. Something about that experience damaged him going forward. While Orlovsky is clearly better than Painter was in his last few weeks, he's not better than Painter was in his first four games. Here are those numbers comparing Painter's first four games (Pittsburgh, Tampa, KC, and Cincinnati) to Orlvosky's last four games (NE, Balt, Tenn, Hou) Comp Att % Yards YPA TD INT Rating Sack Rate Fumbles Painter 56 102 55.0 806 7.9 5 1 93.0 5.6 3 Orlovsky 81 132 61.4 815 6.2 5 2 85.3 6.4 5 Orlvosky is clearly inferior. He's especially bad in the pocket, taking more sacks and fumbling more often. How did the offense do with each player? Painter: 18.7 PPG (just for the 3 starts, leaving Pitts...

Orlovsky: win worth losing the pick

Dan Orlovsky has lived a brutal NFL career but moments like this make me love the guy: "I think we all know the situation, but we're all in the NFL," Orlovsky told "The Dan Patrick Show" on Friday. "... By the way we play, you can tell we don't care about that, we just want to go out and compete and give ourselves a chance to win a game." ...

Orlovsky's late TD pass lifts Colts over Texans

Dan Orlovsky certainly didn't "Suck for Luck" on Thursday, especially when the oft-maligned quarterback orchestrated a two-minute drill to perfection to give the Colts an unlikely 19-16 victory over the AFC South-champion Houston Texans.

Here's How Dan Orlovsky (With The Help Of The Houston Texans) Ruined Christmas For Colts Fans

Down 16-12 to the Houston Texans with 1:50 left in the game, no timeouts, and the ball on their own 22, the Indianapolis Colts would have been heavy dogs to win even with Peyton Manning playing quarterback. But win they did, thanks to the heroics of backup-backup QB Dan Orlovsky and some timely penalties by the Texans defense (who had their own incentive to lose). It put the Colts...

NFL Reactor: Last-Minute Score Gives Colts Upset Over Texans

It looked like the Houston Texans would eke their way to a win on the strength of a Dan Orlovsky fumble, but Orlovsky went from hero to goat in the final 20 seconds, hitting Reggie Wayne to cap off a two-minute drill and give the Colts their first and only touchdown of the game in a 19-16 win. The Texans took a first-minute lead when Arian Foster converted Orlovsky's fumble into...

Orlovsky's late TD Pass Lifts Colts Over Texans

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Dan Orlovsky certainly didn't "Suck for Luck" on Thursday, especially when the oft-maligned quarterback orchestrated a two-minute drill to perfection to give the Colts an unlikely 19-16 victory over the AFC South-champion Houston Texans. When it mattered most down the stretch, Orlovsky guided a 12-play, 78-yard march that ended with...

Colts Win Over Texans Could Help Steelers

The Indianapolis Colts may have given the Pittsburgh Steelers an early Christmas present tonight as they knocked off the Houston Texans 19-16 in the closing seconds of Thursday night football. The Colts trailed the entire game until Colts quarterback Dan Orlovsky hit wide receiver Reggie Wayne for a 1 yard touchdown with 19 seconds left in the game to give the Colts the improbable...

Colts stun Texans on TD with :19 left (AP)

Reggie Wayne will always remember Thursday night's catch. The man with the expiring contract caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Dan Orlovsky with 19 seconds left, giving the Colts their only lead of the game in a 19-16 victory over AFC South champion Houston 19-16. It's the second straight win for the Colts (2-13), who will now have to fight off St.

Colts defense turned around past 10 quarters

It's easy to wonder how many more games the Indianapolis Colts might have won had they opted sooner to bench quarterback Curtis Painter. The same question might be posed of another move announced Nov. 29, the day Dan Orlovsky was named to replace Painter.
