Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart and starting right tackle Byron Bell have been ruled out against the New York Giants. Linebacker Thomas Davis also is out for Carolina. Stewart and Bell didn't practice all week and were listed as questionable. Garry Williams will start for Bell. The Giants will be without three offensive starters - receiver Hakeem Nicks, running back Ahmad Bradshaw and right tackle David Diehl - as well as receiver Domenik Hixon and defensive end Adewale Ojomo because of injuries. All five were ruled out Wednesday and didn't travel to Charlotte. Cornerback Michael Coe and tight end Adrien Robinson are also inactive for the Giants. The Giants will dress just four receivers: Victor Cruz, Ramses Barden, Jerrel Jernigan and the rookie Rueben Randle.

Carolina Panthers: Not just a fantasy in 2012

When the Carolina Panthers used the first overall pick of the 2o11 draft on Cam Newton, they expected him to perform immediately. Newton set the stats board on fire making fantasy owners ecstatic as he cruised to Rookie of the Year honors. The Panthers however; were hampered by the worst defensive line in the league and only managed to win 6, missing the playoffs for the third year...

Seven reasons why the Panthers will defeat the Giants

Charlotte, NC. Week 2 in the NFL was a big one for a lot of teams, as half the league was dealing with the potential of starting the season at 0-2. This was the exact situation for the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants, as both lost their week 1 contests. Carolina bounced back with a nice home win over New Orleans, and looked very much like the team everyone saw for much...

Carolina Panthers crushed by Giants, 36-7

Charlotte, NC – Just when the Carolina Panthers had a great opportunity to make a statement – on prime time – they flopped. Just when they had a chance to come out and show the defending Super Bowl champs what they were made of, they flopped. The New York Giants crushed the Panthers 36 – 7 before 73,951 at Bank of America Stadium in a game that was not that close. Thursday...

Antrelle Rolle and Greg Olsen take out cameramen together

There was a scary moment towards the end of the New York Giants-Carolina Panthers game when Cam Newton's pass sailed over tight end Greg Olsen's head while he was being chased down by defensive back Antrelle Rolle. Both players rumbled into the sidelines taking down a couple of cameramen, respectively. Rolle tried jumping over a sitting photographer and caught his left...

Giant letdown: Carolina Panthers embarrassed on national stage by Eli Manning, Giants

Last season, we saw how far the Carolina Panthers had come from the abysmal 2-14 team that couldn’t move the ball against a squad of determined Girl Scouts. Last night, we saw how far they still have to go. The New York Giants massacred the Panthers 36-7 in front of their home crowd in a game that was practically over as soon as it started. Despite playing without three...

Fantasy Football News: Don’t Panic on Carolina Panthers WR Brandon LaFell

I see you reaching for the “drop” button, I am begging you don’t drop Carolina Panthers WR Brandon LaFell. I know he was one of the most talked about waiver wire pickups by all the fantasy “experts”, and you bought into starting him this week, expecting a big game. I feel your pain, I started LaFell in every league I could get him in, and I was hoping for some production...

Fantasy Football News: Fantasy Owners Should Still Sit DeAngelo Williams Even With Jonathan Stewart Unlikely To Play

The Carolina Panthers may be primed for an upset over the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football this evening. The Giants will enter play without Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw on offense, and they are coming off of a very difficult win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just four days ago. I am not saying that the Panthers had a cake walk over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but...

The Best Moments From Giants-Panthers Thursday Night

It had been three years since the Carolina Panthers were featured in a primetime game. A young upstart team with designs on relevance, the Panthers seized the opportunity last night, only to immediately let it go because there was a bed that needed to be shat upon. Carolina was thoroughly decimated in all facets of the game. If the Panthers weren’t prohibitively behind by halftime...

New York Giants’ Keys to Victory Against the Carolina Panthers

Written By: Kyle Newton (@KNewt22) The New York Giants have played poorly in two home games early in the year, and could easily be 0-2. The Giants should use their come from behind victory against the Buccaneers as a catalyst to get back on track. If the Giants can do at least 5 of these 7 things tonight than they will come out on top guaranteed.   What will the replacement refs...

Giants, Panthers set to put on show on Thursday Night Football

Manning and Newton should put up big numbers tonight. New York Giants (1-1) @ Carolina Panthers (1-1) Last week, Eli Manning and the Giants were down 27-13 in the third quarter. What did Manning do? Nothing much, just led his team on five scoring drives including two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.  He finished with 510 yards, 3 TDs, and 3 INTs. Not too shabby.  Cam...
