Carolina Panthers starting safety Quintin Mikell is questionable to return to Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game against San Francisco after injuring his right leg. Mikell went down while trying to cover 49ers tight end Vernon Davis on a goal-line pass with 47 seconds left in the first half. He was briefly on the ground before limping directly to the tunnel leading to the locker room. Earlier, the 49ers lost fullback Will Tukuafu in the first quarter because of an injured left knee. The 49ers said he's done for the day. Tukuafu was hurt when his left leg bent awkwardly underneath him as he was being tackled on a short catch on the game's opening drive.

WR Steve Smith rips reporter after Panthers loss: 'You really want me to thump you upside the head'

The Carolina Panthers couldn't keep the magic going in a 23-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, however, WR Steve Smith was posed the question if he would be cheering for the Seattle Seahawks in next week's NFC Championship Game. Smith in his usual candor, blasted the reporter.

Panthers can't overcome mistakes, lose to 49ers 23-10 to end season

San Francisco QB Colin Kaepernick tossed one touchdown pass and rushed for another score as the 49ers defeated the Carolina Panthers 23-10 on Sunday to advance to the NFC championship game for the third straight season.

Colin Kaepernick disrespects the game of football with backwards hat, could use a history lesson

I didnt even watch most of yesterdays 49ers Panthers “Football” game. I’ve seen enough from these two teams and specially these two Diva QBs to tell you how it panned out. One of them scored a touchdown and did his little dance then it basicaly turned into “You Got Served” while the other copied the original dance move then put a disrespectful slant on it. Am I getting...

Panthers coach Ron Rivera: 'We lost our composure a couple times'

Clearly, the Panthers were amped up to be participating in a playoff game on Sunday, and the first quarter or so was marked by an abundance of trash-talking by Carolina, especially by the team's secondary. Early in the game, when cornerback Mike Mitchell got in the face of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, I wondered how long it would be before Kaepernick repaid Carolina&...

Colin Kaepernick mocks Cam Newton’s Superman TD celebration

Colin Kaepernick scored on a third quarter scramble to put his 49ers up 20-10 during Sunday’s playoff game in Carolina, and his celebration added a little bit of salt to the wounds of Panthers’ quarterback Cam Newton. Kap stole Cam’s signature Superman TD celebration and mocked it, pretending to tear open his jersey and reveal the Man of Steel crest. Newton’s reaction was...

Colin Kaepernick is Here to Stay

Love him or hate him, Colin Kaepernick is an NFL quarterback. And he is not going anywhere anytime soon. 49ers-Panthers Playoff Live Blog, Second Half

Lots of sad FOX injury music early in this one. Charles Johnson blew up Frank Gore on opening play but was immediately shaken up. Michael Crabtree was injured on the second play after a short gain. Just as it looked like the 49ers opening drive, would sputter out quickly, Kaepernick hit Quinton Patton for 23 yards. On a following third down, Kaep initially tucked the ball in and...

KAEPERNICK ZIPS UP CAM’S SUPERMAN SHIRT AS 49ERS POUND PANTHERS!

Apparently, Superman Cam proved to be no match for Kaeptain Marvel as the 49ers ran past Carolina, 23-10.
