Coach Ron Rivera says Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson will need an MRI on his injured shoulder and linebacker Omar Gaither has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury. They are just the latest in a series of injuries to the Panthers' defense, which has allowed 79 points in their last two games and dropped to 27th in the league rankings. Johnson leads the Panthers with seven sacks. He missed portions of Sunday's 49-35 loss to Detroit after getting hit in the back. Gaither missed two games with a sprained MCL in October and re-injured the knee against Detroit. Defensive end Greg Hardy twisted his ankle, but Rivera remains optimistic he won't miss any time. The Panthers (2-8) face winless Indianapolis on Sunday.
