Larry Brown Sports:
The 49ers were a win short of reaching the Super Bowl last season, and Patrick Willis believes they will make it there this season.
The five-time Pro Bowl linebacker told our friend Stiletto Jill that it’s San Francisco’s destiny to play in the Super Bowl this season.
“The only thing stopping us is ourselves,” Willis told Stiletto Jill during the week. “We have the talent, It’s our destiny to be there. We have the coach. It’s just us in that locker room.”
The 49ers won the NFC West with a 13-3 record last season. After getting a first-round bye in the playoffs, they beat the Saints at home before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Giants. The Niners are 6-2 this season and have lost at Minnesota and at home to the Giants. Though their defense is the top-ranked unit in the league, the 26-3 loss to the Giants proves that they still have a long ways to go in order to reach the big game in February. The Bears and Falcons probably will have a big say about whether San Francisco ...

Patrick Willis has established himself as one of the best defensive players in the NFL. And while the 49ers linebacker is physically gifted, it's what's inside of Willis that has brought him to new heights.
Willis has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first five NFL seasons after enjoying a standout college career at Ole Miss. Things haven'...
We tore this sh*t up Juan…
The 49ers defense is just plain nasty led by the best LB in the business Patrick Willis. He and his brother are blowing off a little steam while Willis is on his bye week. Back to business next week.

The San Francisco 49ers (6-2) are entering their bye week with the third best record in the NFL, at the top of the NFC West division and apparently poised to make another run at the Super Bowl. Here is how they have performed.Quarterbacks: The well-known Game Manager, Alex Smith is having his best season as a professional in his eighth year. His numbers are higher than The League...
I had the opportunity to interview 49′ers linebacker Patrick Willis as a part of the Duracell “Trust your Power campaign”. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about Duracell’s ProCamps scholarships. I asked Patrick what he felt the one thing was that was standing in the way of the 49′ers reaching the Superbowl [...]
The 49ers' bye week concluded mainly without incident, except for a possible fracas in Columbia, Mo., involving outside linebacker Aldon Smith. No criminality was officially involved, and Smith maintains that nothing happened. A television reporter in Columbia said on Twitter that Smith was "jumped." Police reportedly were called to the El Rancho restaurant around...

According to ProFootballWeekly.com, as good as 49ers safety Dashon Goldson has been this season, it’s not a lock that he’ll be back in San Francisco next season.

High and tight Juan…
Somehow Vernon Davis is still a top 5 TE in fantasy. After starting the season on fire with 4 TDs in the first 3 games, he has only 6 fantasy points in the last 3 games combined. I still think the 49ers will get this figured out and Davis is a nice buy low candidate.

Jim Harbaugh said the 49ers have spoken to linebacker Aldon Smith about an alleged bye-week incident at a restaurant in Columbia, Missouri and that they believe Smith when he reported, via Twitter, "Didn't get jumped -- stop asking."
Rumors of yet another off-field incident involving Smith began Thursday when a reporter with the NBC television affiliate in Columbia...
As good as 49ers FS Dashon Goldson has been the first half of the season, Pro Football Weekly hears its hardly a slam dunk that the team opts to re-sign him at seasons end and keeps him from testing what could be a pretty hot market for his services in free agency. Im just not sure what theyre going to do about him, one team insider said. Theyre pretty high on (fourth...
