The New England Patriots (6-3) have released Deion Branch for the second time this season and brought Greg Salas up from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, Tom Curran of CSNNE.com reports. Selected in the fourth round (112th overall) in 2011, Salas was mostly a factor on special teams in St. Louis.  He was traded two and a half months ago to the Patriots on Sept. 1. However, apparently the team didn’t think he was ready, as Branch was brought back into the fold and Salas was waived a week after joining the roster and subsequently signed to the practice squad.  The second-year receiver also received a pay raise while on the practice squad to keep him from leaving in search of seeing the field for another team.
