Eric Edholm of Pro Football Weekly believes Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots could try and sign Houston Texans defensive end/linebacker Mario Williams once he becomes a free agent on March 13th. I honestly don’t see Belichick going after Williams, since he was still able to get a solid pass rush this season with Mark Anderson, Vince Wilfork and Andre Carter.  And just like Edholm mentioned, it’s not Belichick’s style to sign big money free agents and I wouldn’t expect to change this offseason. I would expect the Patriots to potentially draft a pass rusher within the top half of the draft.  But don’t forget, their biggest need is in the secondary.  They need to at least draft another corner and safety.

NFL Rumors: Could the Titans Be After Mario Williams?

It seems unlikely that the Houston Texans can retain Mario Williams. Williams has big money looking to be paid to him and their salary cap could be in a hole even if they franchise-tag the pass-rusher. Many rumors have him going other places, such as the New York Jets. The Jets and Rex Ryan have been looking for an elite pass-rusher to fit their solid 3-4 scheme. They are just a...

Golf has helped Bill Belichick take his mind of another Super Bowl loss

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said this week that being able to play in this weekend’s pro-am tournament at Pebble Beach was a good thing, since it helped him get his mind off of last Sunday’s Super Bowl loss to the Giants. “It’s been tough,” Belichick said. “It’s a tough couple days, but Pebble Beach is a great spot to take your mind off some...

Belichick says golf helps take his mind off the Super Bowl

Patriots coach Bill Belichick headed to Pebble Beach a few days after losing Super Bowl XLVI, and he came across as surprisingly upbeat in a TV appearance there on Saturday. “It’s a tough loss, a tough couple days, but Pebble Beach is a great spot to take your mind off some of the troubles we…

Do the Patriots' belong with the best?

Every NFL dynasty must end. The cruelties of age, finances of free agency and emergence of other superpowers eventually finish them. This is the reality the New England Patriots. After the Patriots lost Super Bowl XLVI to the New York Giants, head coach Bill Belichick was not in the mood to discuss anything but the game itself, and even that was a brief affair. He stared straight...

If NFLers were 'Star Wars' characters

This weekend nerds (including myself) around the world will be headed back to the theatre for Star Wars. Star Wars episode one is back in theatres this weekend but this time new and improved and in 3D. Although everyone and their weird friend who dresses up like Chewbacca considers the Phantom Menace a huge disappointment, there is no doubt the Star Wars movies are an experience...
