A league source has told ESPN's Adam Schefter that receiver Plaxico Burress is enroute to Foxborough for a visit with the Patriots.
The current free agent who beat the Patriots with his touchdown catch in Super Bowl XLII will attend a team workout for the first time this offseason.
Burress played one year with the New York Jets, but hasn't been able to find work since.
A rumor was floating around last week that Burress and the Dallas Cowboys were discussing a contract, but owner Jerry Jones put a stop to that. "We haven't even discussed that internally at all. It's not been discussed at any level in our organization one way or the other", he said.
This looks to be another Patriots practice in due diligence, as the team frequently entertains available free agents for those "just in case" events.
