Found March 20, 2012 on Race Review Online:

manning-tebow-ap-t1In case you have been stuck in a box for the last 24 hours, it is official; Peyton Manning is now a Denver Bronco. It has been widely speculated he would be playing for the Broncos this upcoming season for about a week now; however, news didn’t break until Monday that Manning had instructed his agent to solely negotiate with the Broncos.

Time warp back to this morning and news has broken that Manning and the Broncos have agreed to a contract worth $96 million over 5 years. Per Albert Breer of NFL Network, Peyton’s deal is $18 million for 2012, $40 million in 2013/14, $19 million for 2015, and $19 million for 2016. If he can pass a physical next March, he will receive $58 million. Essentially on the first $18 million is guaranteed (meaning 2012).

Of course, Denver fans are all abuzz this morning knowing Peyton Manning will be their starting quarterback come fall time. The only question remaining in Denver at this point is what to do with Tim Tebow. Oh yes, that same Tim Tebow that had football America all up in a stir during the 2011 season.

Wouldn’t you like to feel sad for Tebow? Think about it, just 3 months ago he led the Broncos to a surprising playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Every Bronco fan in the world was on his jock. Tim was the darling of the National Football League, well in the city of Denver anyways. Now he is the forgotten son (not a reference to Jesus, although give me time I’m sure I’ll come up with one).

So where does Tebow go from here? There have been rumors that New England, Green Bay, Jacksonville, and San Francisco are all interested. Depending on what Alex Smith ultimately does (resign with San Francisco or sign somewhere else), none of those four teams are a starting option for Tebow. And really, is there a team out there at this time that has a starting spot available?

The Tebow mystique may have finally reached its crux. Unless John Elway decided to ultimately keep Tebow in Denver and let him learn under Manning, he will be shipped off to another franchise and be stuck behind the incumbent there. And from all reports out of Denver, they have been shopping Tebow since before Peyton decided he would be a Bronco.

But I digress, back to Mr. Manning himself. Now that he is getting paid an enormous amount of money for being old by football standards and coming off of four neck surgeries, it will be interesting to see what he actually brings to the table in Denver. Personally, I think all of the Bronco fans that are thinking Super Bowl this upcoming winter are going to be sorely disappointed. There are still a few missing pieces to acquire before the Denver franchise will hoist the Lombardi trophy again.

This is not to say that Manning will not lead the team into the playoffs. Hell, if Tebow could get the Broncos into the postseason, Manning surely can. The AFC West has been an up and down division that last few years, and the Broncos will be right there near the top as they almost always are. The playoffs will no doubt happen for them, just a little soon to be talking world champions.

As for all of the Titans, Cardinals and Dolphins’ fans that are whining and moaning that Manning should have come to their team, it’s time to get over it. Work with the teams you have. Quit complaining about something that was out of your control as a fan anyways. I’m a Titans fan myself, and I personally didn’t want him in Nashville. Maybe there should be more fans like myself.

Denver, congratulations. You have your man now. Every citizen and fan in the city of Denver and state of Colorado better hope that being a mile in the air helps protect Manning’s neck. You have nothing else.

Peyton Manning Better in NFL, Tim Tebow Better in College

Peyton Manning Better in NFL, Tim Tebow Better in College Peyton Manning is a Bronco. I am not surprised by this. I predicted it the minute it was announced that Jim Irsay was going to cut him loose. For five years and $96 million, I would be a Bronco too. Actually, I would have signed for $95 million, but Manning said it wasn’t the money. So the next question is, what happens...

Report: Packers are seriously interested in Tim Tebow

According to, the Green Bay Packers are legitimately interested in trading for Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. Two years ago both Packers general manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy spoke highly of Tebow prior to the draft.  Right now though we don’t have any idea if they’ve contacted the Broncos and discussed a potential trade. I believe...

Tim Tebow trade destinations could include Jaguars, Dolphins, Patriots, Eagles

Now that the Broncos are negotiating to sign Peyton Manning, they are likely to trade Tim Tebow. Though Tebow is set to earn a reasonable $1.1 million in the upcoming season, the combined $13.2 million he will earn in the two seasons after that could be a deterrent for teams. However, Tebow is a huge ticket draw, so there are owners who will want to capitalize on his selling power...

Tim Tebow reportedly will be traded to Jets or Jaguars

Tim Tebow may be traded from the Denver Broncos quicker than Peyton Manning chose them. WKMG in Orlando reports that Tebow is expected to be traded to the Jets or Jaguars by midday Wednesday. They say he is likely to be traded for a third-round pick and that his top priority is playing time, not being close to home. A previous report said Tebow wanted to return to his hometown state...

Flynn and Seahawks Agree on Three-Year Deal

He was regarded as the second best free-agent quarterback on the market. I'm not quite sure why since he hasn't proven anything, but nonetheless many people regarded him as the No. 2 guy on the market behind Peyton Manning. The Seattle Seahawks agreed that he was a top free-agent quarterback as they signed Matt Flynn to a three-year deal worth $26 million, $10 million of...

Tim Tebow To The Jets

The Denver Broncos sure do like the spotlight. Rex Ryan Gets Tebowed in Bar (Video)

Rex Ryan in Baton Rouge, LA LSU bar gets Tebowed for the very first time ever on the same day Tim Tebow is traded to the Jets. During Tim Tebow’s press conference with the New York media on Wednesday night, he mentioned that he wanted to play for the Jets ever since he saw head coach Rex Ryan on HBO’s Hard Knocks. “I wanted to play for Coach Ryan ever since I saw ‘Hard Knocks,’ ” Tebow said.“He just seemed like a coach who loves football and is passionate about the game of football. SportsCenter Twitter account duped by crafty, fake Adam Schefter

It was quite a day for those actively tracking the Tim Tebow trade chatter as the Broncos and interested teams were quick on the draw to engage in trade talks for quarterback. As the day unfolded though, the simple headline of "Tebow to The Jets", which was reported early in the morning, became murkier as there was an odd contract irregularity that the Jets were balking...
