Pro Football Zone:
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning knew his team needed a first down without a scoring a touchdown at the end of this past Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. So he told running back Knowshon Moreno to get the first, but don’t score. The only problem is that he has to cross the one yard line to get it.
“He basically was asking me, ‘How am I supposed to do that? How can I get a half-yard but not get a yard and a half?’ ” said Manning per the Associated Press.
“I just said, ‘You can’t! You can’t score! You can’t do it!’ ”
Of course Moreno ended up getting the job done and they were able to kill the clock out and win.
If Moreno had scored, it would have left plenty of time for Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to drive down and score a touchdown to send the game to overtime.

What happens when two teams that are going in completely opposite directions meet up on Sunday? The biggest point spread in NFL history.
Peyton Manning and Denver (5-0) will play at Jacksonville (0-5) in a game where the Broncos are favored by 28.5 points. And that's just the early line, meaning that it could move higher or lower before the 4 p.m. kick.
The Broncos have the...
Knowshon Moreno continued his breakout season on Sunday in the Broncos’ win. Fellow running back LeSean McCoy wasn’t impressed.

The Denver Broncos are starting to remind people of the 2007 New England Patriots. After hanging 51 points on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Peyton Manning and company are now averaging an incredible 46 points per game. The Patriots were “only” averaging 36 points per game after five games in ’07. Things get much easier […]
The 5-0 Denver Broncos have already been installed as 28 point favorites over the 0-5 Jacksonville Jaguars next week in what will be the largest point spread (and biggest mismatch) in NFL history. The Broncos may score 12 touchdowns before the Jaguars complete a forward pass. It's going to be such a blowout, it'll make Ohio State vs Florida A&M look like an instant...
Indianapolis won seven of the first nine AFC South titles. Now, the Colts are back on top of the division.
For the first time in the post-Peyton Manning era, Indianapolis (4-1) has taken sole possession of the division lead - one game ahead of Tennessee and two ahead of two-time defending division champ Houston with no intention of giving it up. The Colts are one of four NFL teams...
Tweet In case you haven’t been paying attention, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos offense has looked like something out of a game of Madden over the first five weeks of the season. Up next in the Broncos line of fire is the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars, who have in contrast looked like one of the […]
He began with a statement. And a sly smile.
When LeSean McCoy meets with the media each week at the NovaCare Complex he usually waits for someone to begin the proceedings by asking a question. Wednesday was different. When he stepped to the podium McCoy started talking.
“I just want to say I think Doug Martin is a heck of a running back” McCoy said with a mischievous smirk...
Denver Broncos Executive vice president of football operations John Elway says the Denver Broncos 51-48 win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday was a “confidence builder.” The win was the narrowest margin of victory so far this season for the 5-0 Broncos. “If you look at the first four
Answering fan questions on ESPN Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater compared himself to Peyton Manning. Ironically, the question came from a UK fan.
* THESE RANKINGS ARE BASED NOT JUST ON RECORD, BUT OVERALL PERFORMANCE AND STRENGTH OF TEAM.1) Denver Broncos (5-0) – Peyton Manning is playing at an All-World level. Once they get Von Miller back, that defense is going to be greatly improved. Even so, who is going to score that many points and keep up with them?2) New Orleans Saints (5-0) – Drew Brees is an animal, and Rob Ryan’s...
LeSean McCoy refused to back down from his Sunday Twitter attack on Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno Wednesday.
It's become needless to say that LeSean McCoy's Twitter account has become a must follow.
On Sunday McCoy went right after Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno in the form of a retweet with ESPN's Skip Bayless and he stood by those comments...
Season To Date: 10 – 5 Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys: The Redskins beat the Cowboys twice last year. Dallas will really want this game and a victory will put them in good shape to win a weak division. The Cowboys lost a wild shootout last week to Denver and Peyton Manning. Tony Romo is playing better than RGIII is and leads the Cowboys to a close high scoring...
