Found March 08, 2012 on The Colts Authority:
Mike Florio has clarified with sources that any penalties the Saints will face for their bounty program will not include shipping the Lombardi to Indianapolis: But we can officially end any such discussion.  The potential consequences for the violation, we’re told, will be limited to those expressly identified in the league’s press release of March 2:  fines, suspensions, and forfeiture of draft picks. Vacating games or taking away titles isn’t on the table.  The Saints will have to write a large check to the league, and the Saints will be prevented from writing a name on a card during one or more rounds of the 2012 (and maybe 2013) draft.  That’s it.

Report: Drew Brees will skip offseason workouts

Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune was a guest of Mike Florio’s on PFT Live on Thursday and indicated that Saints quarterback Drew Brees won’t sign his franchise tender and plans on skipping offseason workouts when they begin in April. Brees has always been a team first guy, but Saints general manager Mickey Loomis decided to play hard ball during contract negotiations...

Being a Drew Brees target is not good personal business

When Marques Colston had a surprising rookie season, all that was talked about is how he was drafted in the 7th round and was from Hofstra. He did put up numbers that are reserved for 1st and 2nd rounders.  70 receptions for 1038 yards and 8 TDs. Drew Brees had a surprising 1st year in New Orleans, after all, he had just had shoulder surgery.  He wasn’t thought of as being elite...

Williams Audio: ‘Kill The Head The Body Will Die’

On Jan. 26, 2010, New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who has since admitted to administering a bounty program within the New Orleans Saints defense, appeared on Nashville’s 3 Hour Lunch radio show on 104.5 The Zone to discuss the upcoming Super Bowl between the Saints and the Indianapolis Colts while extolling the finer points of his coaching philsophy. ...

Saints Nation: Brian De La Puente Returns to Saints To Play... Guard?

Saints' exclusive rights free agent Brian de la Puente has re-signed and while that's not earth shattering news by any stretch I think most of us feel a sigh of relief that Saints related news coming this week, for once, is positive. De la Puente is the incumbent starter at center and he came from nowhere to do an admirable job manning the middle position of the line. De...

Saints Nation: Saints Re-Sign Turk McBride to 1 Year Deal

Despite grossly underperforming a year ago, the Saints have decided to bring back defensive end Turk McBride and give him another shot in 2012 with a one year deal. Larry Holder reported this via twitter. McBride's return along with the restructured deal of Will Smith means the edge rushers likely won't change all that much, with Junior Galette and Cameron Jordan also returning...

NFLPA says it will do own bounty investigation

The NFL Players Association will do its own investigation of the New Orleans Saints' bounty system and is asking the league to help set up interviews with the team's coaches and front-office staff. In a statement released Wednesday, the union says it will ''vigorously protect the rights of all players.'' The statement also says that if it turns out players...

Please click the link to read the rest of this story to find out what stat Moss could create for himself...

NFC South Nuggets: When Drew Brees is Livid, I Am Happy

Welcome to NFC South Nuggets, where the most biased Falcon fan from the Gritz Blitz blog presents some NFC South links in the most biased way possible.  It is a great week around the NFC South if you are a Falcon fan.  Now it is time to "get [our] ducks in a row" as if we were Saints players about to give the NFL "categorical denials" of our activities. ...

Saints coaches were all laughs

Former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Greg Williams and current head coach Sean Payton were all laughs before getting busted for putting bounties on opposing players.  Check the above clip.

‘Bountygate’ And The Flaws In How We Think About Morality In The NFL

The New Orleans Saints’ bounty system scandal has been the biggest story of the offseason (well, maybe second biggest – some guy in Indianapolis has been in the news a bit too). We’ve been subjected to hours of television and countless internet columns vilifying the players for participating, the coordinator (Gregg Williams) for organizing, and the general manager (Mickey Loomis...

NFL thoughts: the bounty system is as old as the game

It's been a crazy week in the National Football League. The combine is over, draft talk is heating up, franchise tags have been handed out, teams have started re-signing their own players, and some cuts have gone down. A crazy week... and then the pay for pain story broke. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, then of the New Orleans Saints, was caught with an elaborate bounty...
