Former Giants legend Phil Simms believes Eli Manning of the New York Giants isn't an elite quarterback in this league despite he has won two super bowls. The current NFL analyst on CBS said this past Monday said Eli Manning is a tremendous player, but he is not up their with Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgerts, etc. His reason is that Eli Manning isn't the type of player that doesn't make unbelievable plays. Phil Simms has apparently has no clue on how analyst football anymore. By the way, didn't you say back before the season started that Eli Manning is a elite QB and now you say he is clearly not an elite QB anymore. Phil Simms is flip-floping with his answers so he can sould so intelligent on what he is discussing on the matter. Personally, I do believe Eli Manning has a tired arm and he does need rest for a week. If you look at Eli Manning's career in the NFL. He has won two super bowls against Tom Brady of the Patriots, he has been named a two-time super bowl MVP and he is the biggest clutch QB when it comes down to the 4th quarter. This is probably the worse analysts I have heard yet this football season. Phil Simms has be to losing his mind or he doesn't know anything about the game of football. What a joke!

Manning has gone from MVP to playing like rookie

With the New York Giants off to a 6-2 start and holding a big lead in the NFC East, two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning was a legit MVP candidate. Not anymore. After two straight losses and some pathetic offensive play, Manning is now hearing the other side of the equation from fans and critics. His golden arm looks tired and his play is reminiscent of his rookie season when teams...

Phil Simms doesn’t believe Eli Manning is an elite quarterback

During an appearance on CBS Sports Network’s NFL Monday QB show, former Giants quarterback and CBS analyst Phil Simms said that he doesn’t believe Eli Manning is an elite quarterback. “No, he is not one of the elites,” Simms said in quotes distributed by CBS, via the New York Daily News. “Because when I hear the word elite, I’m thinking about guys that can make unbelievable...

Giants trying to figure out why Manning is slumping

After starting out on fire by throwing 12 touchdowns to just seven interceptions in the first seven games of the season, quarterback Eli Manning has found himself in a major slump -- perhaps the worst one of his career since his rookie season -- that is now three weeks old. Over the last three games, Manning has not only failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in his...

Denver Broncos: Week 11 NFL Power Rankings (#5)

Last week: 5 (+0) Record: 6-3 It’s weird to say, but Tracy Porter getting sick was the turning point for their season. Obviously, I wish the best for Porter in his recovery from him mysterious illness, but as well as Peyton Manning is playing, they wouldn’t be a complete team if it weren’t for Chris Harris and Tony Carter stepping up and playing phenomenal in their secondary...

Ten Observations from Week 10 in the NFL

1. “Tired arm” isn’t the only thing ailing Eli Manning. On Friday NFL Films’ Greg Cosell said that Eli Manning’s struggles the past few weeks were due to the quarterback having a “tired arm.” And after Manning completed 29-of-46 passes for just 215 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions in New York’s 31-13 loss to the Bengals, it’s hard to argue with Cosell’s...

NY Giants season may have just crashed

With the Giants loss to the Bengals yesterday, the blame game is a fun thing to do. I've seen a few mentions of Eli Manning not having zip on the ball. Whatever. I say that because it's a moot point. The Giants, under Tom Coughlin, perform just well enough in the regular season to stumble into the playoffs, and then somehow  win Super Bowls. It's just how this team works...

Luck keeps Pats-Colts rivarly relevant

You'd think with Peyton Manning in Denver the once-fierce Colts-Patriots rivalry would be diminished. No such "Luck." Now that Indianapolis has its new franchise quarterback -- rookie Andrew Luck, the overall No. 1 pick in this year's draft -- it's become quite clear this rivalry could remain intense. Through nine games, Luck has looked incredibly poised...

How the New York Giants Are in the Perfect Situation…Sort of

To say that the New York Giants played a bad game on Sunday would be an understatement.  Watching that game, many would think that this was the worst game the Giants have played in recent years. After watching that game, it was hard to tell if the team that was just on the TV was the Giants or if it was a misprint and everyone just watched the Jets. Despite the horrendous game and...

Buy Low: MJD

They thought Jennings was the answer Juan… There are very few guys that you can stick on your bench and possibly win you a championship.  MJD is one of those guys.  Rashad Jennings stinks.  OK, he pretty much sucks…at least in comparison to MJD.  This is blatantly obvious when you watch this team play. Look, MJD can be probably be acquired for next to nothing (maybe) and...

Week 11: Chargers-Broncos preview

San Diego at Denver Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver - TV: CBS; DirecTV: 714 *TV announcers: Jim Nantz, Phil Simms *Keys to the game: Philip Rivers completed 82.4 percent of his passes in the past two games, but the memory of his four-interception game vs. Denver and a haunting pick returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter last week...
