Within hours after the Philadelphia Eagles proudly announced that they have agreed to terms with offensive tackle King Dunlap on a one-year contract, the team revealed that left tackle Jason Peters sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon Tuesday, March 27, in his right leg, while working out in Texas.
According to the Eagles’ press release, Peters’ surgery to repair the tendon is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2 in Philadelphia and the procedure will be performed by Dr. Steve Raikin, of the Rothman Institute.
“As we announced earlier, Jason Peters has sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon,” said Eagles’ head coach Andy Reid in a released statement. “He had been working out in his hometown in Texas when this occurred.”
