The Philadelphia Eagles announced Sunday they have acquired defensive tackle Ollie Ogbu in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for cornerback D.J. Johnson. The Eagles also signed free agents wide receiver Anthony “Tiger” Jones and cornerback Kee-ayre Griffin.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Colts in 2011, Ogbu spent last season on the Colts practice squad.
The 25-year-old was a three-year starter at defensive tackle for Penn State, where he logged 113 tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as senior in 2010.
The 6-1, 305-pound lineman earned second team All-Big 10 honors as a junior in 2009, registering 48 tackles (17 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss, a half-sack and one pass defensed.
The Staten Island, N.Y. native was recognized as a PrepStar Magazine All-American while at Milford Academy.
