About 3 weeks ago, I wrote a post-combine Mock Draft, without clear-cut information , I had to assume the compensatory picks the Oakland Raiders would receive. Earlier in the week the NFL announced the Raiders would receive; 3rd round (95th overall), 4th round (129th overall), and 5th round (168th overall) compensatory picks, along with 5th [...]

The Oakland Raiders announced they have traded OG/OT Bruce Campbell to the Carolina Panthers for; Running Back Mike Goodson. I am personally a big fan of this trade. It gives us some much-needed Running Back depth. Second-year RB Taiwan Jones has potential, but he is young, and frankly… his running-style is not compatible with the [...]

No, this isn't a lesson in geometry despite the reference to Pythagoras. Hefty math is involved however. You've been warned.
Nate Dunlevy tackles Bill James' famous concept of pythagorean wins as it pertains to our Colts.
Let's start with an explanation:
The concept is simple, even though the math is tricky. The idea is that over time, a team's point differential...

Despite some false reports from a fake CBS Sports Twitter account, the Indianapolis Colts aren’t going to use the first overall pick in April’s draft to pick anyone but Andrew Luck, according to Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star.
There’s no need for Colts fans to worry that your team might draft a running back like Trent Richardson over Andrew Luck or even Robert Griffin III.
Paul Kuharsky sees more underappreciated vets with upside in the Colts' future:
What’s next: I expect more role players like Zbikowski and McGlynn, more castoffs like Justice and Stanton and more guys who are presumed finished by a lot of teams, like Avery. They are all guys who didn’t cost much but who have upside and can help, at least as role players. And if they don’t...
