I'll be honest, when reports first started surfacing that the 0-16 Detroit Lions had their eye on Matt Stafford as the first pick of the 2009 draft, I felt a little sorry for him. Then, of course, he signed a six-year contract with the Lions for $41.7 million, and I started feeling a little better for him.Now, with the start of the NFL season less than a month and a half away, I'm pretty confident that regardless of what happens on the field, the kid's gonna be all right.GATA, indeed.(Hat tip: the great Senator Blutarsky.)
