The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense has been the only part of the team that hasn’t taken that much heat during this winless season. That was until the Minnesota Vikings carved them up. The defense displayed their worst performance all season long in that loss.
The Steelers are coming off a bye week and will take on the New York Jets in week 6. The Jets will be coming into the match-up against the Steelers on a short week. The Jets beat the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football in a game where the Jets won in dramatic fashion.
The Jets who are always a whirlwind of questions are led by their rookie quarterback Geno Smith out of West Virginia University. After a quarterback shuffle during the offseason and an injury to last year’s quarterback Mark Sanchez, Smith was given the task of managing the Jets’ offense. Smith hasn’t been spectacular thus far but has shown some signs of being a quality, rookie quarterback including a great performance on Monday Night Football.
Smith led the Jet...

According to a Louisville TV station WDRB there will be at least 26 NFL scouts in attendance, from 20 teams. Jacksonville has asked for three credentials, including one for Jaguars GM David Caldwell. Pittsburgh will also have its GM, Kevin Colbert, present. And Tampa Bay is sending Eric Stokes, the team’s director of scouting, the […]
According to WPXI-TV, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley is being sued by a home builder, who is accusing him of backing out of a million-dollar house deal. That's not all, Haley is also being accused of trashing the home in question.
The station reports that investigator Rick Earle has obtained a copy of the lawsuit filed against Haley and his wife Christine...
Ryan Clark told Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that he believes the winless Steelers can still make the playoffs. “I just believe we can win. That’s just the bottom line,” Clark said Tuesday. “I think we have the people in this room, the coaches (to win). Also, looking at our schedule, we’re not playing world beaters, we’re not playing gods. We’re
According to the latest depth chart released on Tuesday, Cameron Heyward is listed as the starting left defensive end over Ziggy Hood.
As we pointed out this morning, up until now, Heyward has seen the field primarily in the Steelers sub packages. Most of those times, he has been replacing Hood. When Heyward has played in the Steelers base defense, he has mostly been doing so in...
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward saw a season-low 19 snaps in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings and if you are wondering why that was, it's really quite simple.
Prior to the season starting, head coach Mike Tomlin said that the third-year Ohio state product would be playing mostly in sub packages.
"We feel very good about Cam Heyward," said Tomlin back...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been naughty boys this season, losing all of their games and getting embarrassed on the field most games. Well bad boys don’t get toys. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has taken away all games from the Steelers locker room until they get “back on track.” That means no pool, no ping pong and no shuffleboard. One veteran player described the new situation...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their Thursday practice as they continue to prepare to play the New York Jets this Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The second injury report of the week is now out and here is what it says.
Guard Ramon Foster (pectoral) practiced fully for a second straight day and that continues to be encouraging news. According to Scott Brown of ESPN.com, Foster...
Steelers safety Ryan Clark is confident that his team can rebound and make the playoffs after an 0-4 start to this season.
Clark is confident because of how weak the AFC North.
“I just believe we can win. That’s just the bottom line,” Clark said Tuesday via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I think we have the people in this room, the coaches (to win). Also, looking at our schedule...
Amid the rubble of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 0-4 start, there’s plenty of blame to go around.
Mike Tomlin’s drafts have been among the targets of that finger-pointing.
That’s certainly part of the problem. We’re fresh off ripping the Steelers 2012 draft class.
While there’s still time for some of those 2012 selections to blossom, the book is closed on the 2008 draft, which...

It is no secret that Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert has often felt the ire of the team’s fan base for a perceived lack of fire or passion, suggesting perhaps that he lacks the proper motivation or disposition for the sport.
Of course, there are plenty of examples on tape to the contrary, but in general, Gilbert does seem to play a fairly soft...
The Steelers are struggling. Offensive coordinator Todd Haley is under fire for how badly Pittsburgh's offense has performed. And you have to wonder about his job security in just his second year under head coach Mike Tomlin.
Oh and he's being sued by a homebuilder who claims that Haley and his wife trashed the $1.4 million rental in which they were living after they already...
Color me a bit shocked. According to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, safety Will Allen was spotted at the Pittsburgh Steelers facility on Wednesday just one day after he was released by the Dallas Cowboys.
The Steelers had a chance to re-sign Allen during the offseason, but chose not to and the veteran safety wound up signing a one-year qualifying contract with the...
A bit of an overreaction, I doubt Playstation is the reason the Steelers are losing, but according to ESPN, Tomlin has banned all games (pool, ping-pong, cards, video games and etc) from the locker room.
I have to confirm if air hockey was also banned, if so, then Tomlin must be fired, it isn’t American to ban air hockey.
I am sure they will find a way to blame GTA V for this.
In news which seems to validate every caricature every said about the man, Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley is being used by a home builder who is accusing Haley of backing out of a million dollar house deal and, oddly enough, for bizarrely wrecking the home in question.
The news comes courtesy of steelersdepot.com, who reported the news from WPXI-TV.
When former Pittsburgh Steelers guard Willie Colon signed with the New York Jets back in March, he let the local media know that while he didn't have any ill-feelings toward his former team, he did have "big ass chip" on his shoulder. Colon, who will face the Steelers Sunday, told the media Wednesday that it will be just another game for him.
"I’m not going into...
