Pat McAfee has been stellar this year.  Not only is he nearing Shane Lechler's statistical performance, but he's had quite a few critical special teams tackles.Bill Polian pointed out that Pat needed to improve during his weekly radio show.  Wrong?  You bet and Matt Grecco tells us why: The lone bright spot in this awful year has been that the Colts aren't beating themselves with penalties, as they are best in the league on a per-play basis. You'll also see the second best area on the Offense is the Net Punting Average. You'll see how silly it was for Polian to single out Pat McAfee. Pat responded via his Twitter feed.  ESPN's Paul Kuharsky not only agrees with Grecco but passes out praise for the way McAfee responded: It’s ridiculous to be critical of McAfee considering the Colts under Polian have generally been terrible on special teams and McAfee has a great leg that’s been an asset. Applause to McAfee for standing up for himself in a graceful way.

Polian a Disgrace to NFL's Spirit of Competition

With the race for Andrew Luck now officially over, SC's Bob Ekstrom thinks Bill Polian's next Competition Committee project should be a lottery-based draft that will stop any team from desecrating the spirit of competion the way his 2011 Colts have.

Polian: Colts can't look to rookie draft pick for quick fix

On Bill Polian's radio show Monday night, the team's vice chairman acknowledged that even if Indianapolis took a quarterback with the No. 1 draft pick, presumably Luck, the only way to turn things around next season would be with a veteran.

Polian hints Caldwell's shaky

The Colts are 0-13 and could be headed for a winless season. If that happens, it looks like the team will fire coach Jim Caldwell.

Polian hopes Caldwell’s job is safe, almost drafted Yates

On Monday, Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian hosted his weekly radio show “Let’s see what Polian can say to drive Colts fans crazy.” Two comments stuck out. The first came when Polian was asked if coach Jim Caldwell’s job was in jeopardy. “My fervent hope is that Jim’s job is not in jeopardy because my fervent…

Colts may have 2 big-name QBs in '12

Colts fans could have the best of both worlds in 2012: Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck on the same roster. On Bill Polian's radio show Monday night, the team's vice chairman acknowledged that even if Indianapolis took a quarterback with the No. 1 draft pick, presumably Luck, the only way to turn things around next season would be with a veteran. Polian did not specifically...

When Bill Polian was asked about the fate of Colts coach Jim Caldwell, the team's vice chairman squeezed out a lukewarm endorsement.

All signs point towards Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell being fired

All signs point towards Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell being fired at the end of the season. According to StampedeBlue.com Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian said as much during his weekly radio show this week. Polian said, “My fervent hope is that Jim’s job is not in jeopardy because my fervent hope is that we don’t go 0-16, and we’re doing everything we can to...

Stampede Blue: Colts pressured by other firings?

This one is a bit far-fetched for me, but David Dietz over at Stampede Blue would disagree.  He argues that the primary candidates for a Colts head coaching job are the same ones Miami and Kansas City could be eyeing: Unless Jim Irsay is willing to cut ties with the Polians or Bill Cowher would be willing to accept a lesser stature, it comes down to Jeff Fisher. We all know Fisher respects...

Colts: Manning throwing but won't play

The Colts will have to win their last two games the same way they tried to win their first 14 -- without Peyton Manning. Minutes after the previously winless Colts got their first win, 27-13 over Tennessee, team vice chairman Bill Polian said the four-time league MVP will not play this season though he has begun throwing to teammates at the team complex. The comments came in a...
