Kaelin Burnett is the brother of Miami Dolphins linebacker Kevin Burnett. Kaelin began his career playing outside linebacker at Nevada, but was moved to defensive end right before his senior season . He is obviously not your prototypical defensive end at 234 lbs, but did show case his agility and notched 48 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks in his senior season.
Kaelin’s road to the NFL was not easy though. He had to overcome shoulder surgery in 2008 and a very serious hip injury he suffered during spring practice before his senior season at Nevada. “I went up in the air to knock down a screen pass,” Burnett said in an interview with Joe Santoro from examiner.com. “I got pushed in the air and landed on my hip.” this wasn’t an ordinary hip injury though. “They told

The late, great Hunter S. Thompson once wrote this about the Oakland Raiders “The Raiders of old were vicious and crazy and cruel. Hanging around their locker room was like hanging around the weight room at Folsom Prison. Not all of them were ex-cons, but there were always enough Killers and Rapists and Bank Robbers [...]

The Raiders seemed very excited at the opportunity to grab Miles Burris in the 4th round of the draft this year. In my opinion Miles seemed...
It’s that time again, fantasy football season is here again and the Oakland Raiders have a lot of players that might be just the player you need to get you that extra point to win the championship this year. These are my top five fantasy players for the Oakland Raiders in 2012. 1. Darren McFadden [...]
Perception is a funny thing. We each perceive the world a certain way, and in our minds that way is the correct way. Our past experiences (what we've learned, heard, seen, and felt) shape how we...
Come here for the best Miami Dolphins blog on the web. We have all of the most up to date new and opinions on the Dolphins organization for its fans.
In 2011, the Oakland Raiders new owner Mark Davis, son of Al Davis who died last year had to search for a General Manager after his father’s death. The search lasted three months doing his own research consulting with many experts, but by the time he got a chance to interview candidates he knew, “Reggie [...]
The Miami Dolphins hit the practice field in just 11 days….That’s right, just 11 days until Dolphins training camp opens up. With a number of position battles taking place, we expect camp to be full of drama and excitement. The best part? We’ll all be able to watch it unfold on HBO’s Hard Knocks. [...]
The Oakland Raiders punt returner competition will be one to keep an eye out for during training camp and preseason games. Last season wide receiver Denarius Moore handled most of the duties, but with his expanding role in the offense, will the Raiders risk him returning kicks.
All offseason coaches and players have been impressed with Moore. During the organized team workouts he...
CBS NFL analyst Phil Simms told the Miami Herald that he would take Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill over last year’s first round quarterbacks Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, and Christian Ponder.
“I would have taken him before [2011 first-rounders] Jake Locker,Blaine Gabbert or Christian Ponder,” CBS’ Phil Simms told us. “He made more NFL throws...
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Oakland Raiders are in “no rush” to sign Cedric Benson. Benson to the Raiders would seem like an obvious fit because, while the Raiders do have running backs, Darren McFadden, Taiwan Jones, and Mike Goodson, none are power backs like Benson is. Benson to the Raiders has been speculated for weeks, but they appear to not be in any rush...
NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and West Coast rapper The Game heated up the Twitter world this weekend after exchanging a few direct disses at one another.
Ever since The Game beat up 40 Glocc in a fight while recording it on his iPhone, he has been walking around with his chest out. Ochocinco decided to call him out after a twitter follower asked if he and the Game squared...
As a team that is clearly rebuilding, the Miami Dolphins have a lot of questions to be answered, both on and off the field. Every position has a controversy, a position battle, or both. On top of that, they’re breaking in a new coach and have a front office that made one of the most questionable trades in recent memory. This list could very easily be ten questions long, but...
This site is dedicated to both fact and opinion for the Miami Dolphins. Over the weeked, as Dolfans we all learned about the Miami Dolphins communication with the League Office regarding a potential logo change for 2013. Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post wrote about this very idea that the Dolphins might be changing the logo for the first time since 1997. His article can be...
This offseason the Oakland Raiders used their franchise tag on strong safety Tyvon Branch. Branch signed the 6.2 million dollar tender in May to ensure he would remain with the Raiders for at least the 2012 season. Now the two sides have reached an agreement that will keep Branch with the team for the next four seasons.
The new contract will be worth 26.6 million dollars...
Dolphins training camp previewTRAINING CAMP GOALS 1. Settle the quarterback conundrum. The Dolphins have been stuck in a quarterback abyss ever since Dan Marino retired in 1999. While there are some decent arms on the roster, there is no guarantee relief comes in 2012. David Garrard, a 34-year-old veteran, appears to be the front-runner based on his seamless fit into the west...
