Statistically speaking, Jerome Bettis and Curtis Martin had very similar careers. In 11 seasons, Martin rushed for 14,101 yards and 90 touchdowns. He averaged 4.0 yards per carry for his career. As a receiver, Martin totaled 484 receptions for 3,329 yards and 10 touchdowns. He had 29 career fumbles.   Martin played in 10 career playoff games, and has impressive postseason stats. He rushed for 795 yards and 8 touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Martin also had 37 career postseason receptions for 305 yards.   In 13 seasons, the Bus ran for 13,662 yards and 91 touchdowns, with an average of 3.9 yards per carry. Bettis wasn’t utilized as an every-down type of back towards the end of his career, and his receiving numbers are inferior to Martin’s as a result. Bettis had 200 receptions for 1,449 yards and 3 touchdowns. He had 41 career fumbles.
