QB Jake Plummer was in Denver yesterday, throwing the football to upcoming NFL draft hopefuls. According to the Denverpost, Plummer was throwing to clients of Denver trainer Loren Landow. The paper reports that Plummer would likely return to throw footballs again later this spring. Plummer’s appearance in Denver quickly led to speculation that he might be planning a comeback to the NFL. Plummer dismissed that idea. Speaking with CBS4, Plummer responded when asked about a possible comeback, “To be honest with you, my heart’s not in it.” That is not a surprising response from a player which simply up and walked away from a once promising NFL career. Plummer’s rights were acquired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007 from the Denver Broncos. Rather than join a Buccaneers team, then coached by Jon Gruden, Plummer chose to retire and take up playing professional handball. Plummer was 32 at the time of his retirement. His best season statistically came in 2004 when he threw fo...

(Image courtesy of Andrew Mason/MaxDenver.com) We’ve been speculating for several weeks that Denver may sign free agent wide receiver Brandon Stokley as a “camp target,” bringing him in for training camp.  Having experience with quarterback Peyton Manning, Stokley may come back to Denver to “compete”...

Quarterback Peyton Manning’s Presence will Elevate teammate’s Performances

(Image courtesy of Rick Wilking/Reuters Pictures) It’s no secret that quarterback Peyton Manning makes everyone around him better, just look at how the Colts fared without him in 2011.  With Manning now under center in Denver, his new teammates, especially the receivers and tight ends, are primed to have potent seasons. Among the players expected to benefit from Manning’s presence...

Broncos receive no 2012 compensatory draft picks

The Denver Broncos were not among 15 teams to receive compensatory draft picks this year, the NFL announced at its annual owners meetings Monday. A total of 32 compensatory picks were divvied out. The Broncos still have seven draft picks in 2012. The Oakland Raiders received by far the greatest compensation, netting the only third round pick of the bunch, as well as fourth and fifth...

Peyton Manning Does Not Make the Denver Broncos Super Bowl Contenders

Getty Images Contrary to popular belief, replacing Tim Tebow with Peyton Manning will not give John Elway another Super Bowl ring. In fact, the Denver Broncos will not even challenge for the Super Bowl next year. The day after Peyton Manning signed with Denver, the Broncos Super Bowl odds improved from 50-1 to 10-1. I wonder if the odds-makers would reconsider after reading this...

Denver Broncos fan rips Peyton Manning…from his obituary

Back on Monday, a Denver Broncos fan in Missouri by the name of James H. Driver passed away at the age of 78. It appears from looking at his obituary that he wasn’t a huge fan of the newly acquired quarterback Peyton Manning. Check out the first paragraph of his obit that decides to take one good shot at Peyton before he passed away: James H....

Jake Plummer blasts Tim Tebow again: Jets can’t win Super Bowls ‘with a humanitarian quarterback’

We’ve heard the main knocks on Tim Tebow. He can’t pass. He’s not a quarterback. He’s a gimmick. He’s only a ticket-seller. But former Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer has just given us something we didn’t see coming. Plummer, who previously said he’d like Tebow better if he cut down on the Jesus talk, spoke with KKFN radio in Denver on Tuesday and praised the quarterback...

Broncos to Let Peyton Manning Run His Air Traffic Control Offense in Denver

Let the gyrations begin. Peyton Manning, whose prowess as quarterback for the Colts included him adjusting the offense from the line of scrimmage and going no-huddle almost exclusively, will be given free rein while leading the Broncos, coach John Fox said at a media breakfast during the owners meetings in Florida on Tuesday. An overhaul for the Denver offense shouldn't be too...

Could Terrell Owens become a Bronco?

Peyton Manning shocked everyone with his move to the Denver Broncos. To fans that follow football faithfully, it made no sense to pick that team when the San Francisco 49ers were in the mix. Now that the Broncos have landed their quarterback what will they do to help him? Denver has no offense, and their

The Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl? A Dose of Reality

"Team spirit" is infectious. We love it. That is one of the reasons we enjoy football so much. There are few things more enjoyable than watching a calm, mild-mannered individual reduced to a quivering pile of fury at what he perceives to be a blown call. Or consider the chills that run down the spine when a group of complete strangers sees that unexpected turnover and...

NYC strip club offering Tim Tebow his first lap dance

Rick’s Cabaret is notorious for being one of the the top gentlemen’s clubs in New York. Tim Tebow is notorious for being one of the most devoutly religious athletes in professional sports. With Tebow arriving in New York, it was only a matter of time before these two beings would collide somehow. And now they are: Rick’s is offering the most overhyped back-up quarterback ever...

Good morning!  My name is Tim Lynch.  Many of you may know me from the many years I spent at Mile High Report, but I am now part of the BroncoTalk crew.  I’ll try to bring some Broncos wholesomeness your way intermittently, but in the meantime I will be sporting the Daily Links here.  Don’t be surprised if there is a similarity to MHR’s Horse Tracks in the format as I...
