QB Rankings – Week Five Peyton Manning and Drew Brees continue to top the quarterback rankings followed by fellow tier one QB Aaron Rodgers fresh off a bye week. For all the talk about these teams wanting to emphasize the run, these three sure still look elite in fantasy. With Jake Locker out Ryan Fitzpatrick comes in as a bottom two option this week despite the Titans remarkable 3-1 record. Matthew Stafford looks primed for a big game against divisional rival Green Bay Packers whom he has averaged 307 yards per game against over his career. Michael Vick looks poised to have a big game against the Giants on paper but the Giants have played Vick tough during his tenure as an Eagle and if they can stifle DeSean Jackson, he may struggle once again. Philip Rivers is in the midst of a career renaissance and should have a big game against his division rival Oakland Raiders this week. Rivers is ranked as a sure fire QB1 this week. Tony Romo finds himself ranked as a top ten option this wee...

How are elite teams defined?

Usually in the NFL we know who the elite teams are, but sometimes we have a hard time defining exactly what that means. Do elite teams have shutdown defenses, high-octane offense and great kickers on special teams? Well, as we’ve seen this year, there’s no one qualification. The Denver Broncos, for example, are the hottest team in football. Peyton Manning is putting up touchdowns...

Although the...

Bet the Mortgage: Week 5, 2013 NFL Best Bets

After amassing a commanding lead, Andy went big in Week 4–and his losses put him back within reach for my bets in Week 5. Meanshile, I plodded along at 2-2 for the week–bot lost my two bigger bets ($200 on the Bears straight up and $300 on the Bungles)...
