The Raiders were still smoldering after an official's inadvertent whistle erased what could have been a 25-yard touchdown return of a fumble by Tyvon Branch. Yes, the Raiders acknowledged their role in a 34-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, and the fact that sleepwalking through a 24-0 first half was ultimately the reason for their demise. Yet a team struggling as much as the Raiders could use any spark, and following a third quarter in which they outscored Cincinnati 10-0, one appeared when Joselio Hanson stripped Mohamed Sanu and batted the ball back on the field of play. Official Julian Mapp blew his whistle, Branch picked the ball up and ran in untouched. Some players had stopped when the whistle blew, others had not. The ruling was that the Bengals not only retained possession of the ball, but got to pick whether to play the down over or take the ball at the spot. "I understood the call," Raiders linebacker Philip Wheeler said, "but the referee (Mapp...

When the Oakland Raiders make a move, it often leaves many people scratching their heads. That was the case when they gave up so much to acquire Carson Palmer from the Cincinnati Bengals. It was even more so when they used a supplemental draft pick to select Terrelle Pryor, who many saw as a project at quarterback even if he was allowed to return to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes...

Darren McFadden is expected to return from a three week absence in the Oakland Raiders’ backfield, and that return may happen as soon as Week 13 against the Cleveland Browns. McFadden has not played in the team’s past few games, although Marcel Reece has stepped up in a major way while filling in for the oft injured RB who is a fantasy headache for many owners once again this...

Another Sunday, another loss for the 2012 Oakland Raiders. After being outscored 24 to nothing at halftime, the Silver&Black attempted a late comeback with 10 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter, but could not keep it going in the fourth. With the defense conceding 169 points in the last four games (42 PPG), the Raiders have now accumulated 4 [...]
The Oakland Raiders are desperately in search of some sort of positive news.
The Raiders (3-8) just finished perhaps the worst month in franchise history by losing all four games in November, capped by three straight losses by at least 21 points
The team's first four-game skid since 2008 assures Oakland of a 10th straight season without a winning record and has turned the focus...
Next up for the Raiders is one of the hottest teams in the AFC, with a trip to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. The past two games for the Silver and Black have yielded embarrassing results to say the least. If Carson Palmer’s return to Cincinnati is going to be any different for the Raiders, improvements need to be made in [...]
Bengals fans had this game circled on their calendar. For some, this was the game when we could show Palmer what a dumb decision he made by choosing to sit out and eventually join the Raiders over staying in Cincinnati and playing. For others, they wanted to boo the guy for the way he quit. Others just hoped the Bengals could continue their dominance in the last few weeks with...
