Found December 19, 2013 on Pro Football Zone:
In this April’s draft the Houston Texans selected the productive LSU DE Sam Montgomery. By October he was already released. The cause for the release was supposed marijuana smoking on Montgomery’s part. Sam continues to deny his participation but never the less he was released. The Oakland Raiders are giving him another chance. The Raiders have apparently signed former Texans outside linebacker Sam Montgomery, per a tweet from his agent. The Texans released the third-round pick (95th overall) in October, which was the latest in a long line of authority figures having problems with him. The release was reportedly for smoking marijuana the night before a game, though Montgomery denied smoking, saying he merely walked into a room where others Montgomery has a history of off of the field issues that contradict the Raiders new regime. There are reports that the signing is to the Raiders practice squad rather than their active roster. Need NFL Tickets? ...

Could Jon Gruden return to the sidelines in the NFL? If Dennis Allen is fired, I could see him in Oakland

Jon Gruden would consider replacing Mack Brown as head coach of the Texas Longhorns, reported Wednesday. Last week,’s Chip Brown was the first to report that Mack Brown would be stepping down as Texas coach. According to reports, Gruden, who is currently the color analyst on “Monday Night Football,” may want to get […]

Please don’t listen to Raiders fans, Mr. McKenzie

From my online chatting with the many Raiders fans I come in contact with I have learned one thing: they have grown too accustomed to the way Mr. Al Davis did things. In the last week I have heard endless reasons why the Raiders should fire Coach Dennis Allen and draft a quarterback with their first round pick. These are the reasons why the Raiders were blown out by a Kansas City...

Former Raiders QB Rich Gannon says 'I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibilities' on Jon Gruden returning to team

The Oakland Raiders and general manager Reggie McKenzie in the offseason will decide if two years with Dennis Allen has produced enough results to give him another year, but there rumblings that big names are eyeing the Raiders head coach position.

Rich Gannon believes Jon Gruden would be interested in coaching the Raiders again

Former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon told 95.7 The Game in San Francisco on Tuesday that he wouldn’t count out Jon Gruden from coming back and coaching the Silver and Black. “I’ve had conversations with Jon in the past,” Gannon said via  “I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibilities.” Gannon is certain that Gruden wants to get back...

RB Darren McFadden looks a full go for Sunday's game against Chargers

Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden will finish the season backing up Rashard Jennings, who was no lock to even make the team going into training camp. The talented but injury prone rusher will get to flash what he's got to the coaching staff and general manager in hopes of impressing enough for them to want him as part of the future.

Today the agent of Sam Montgomery posted on his Twitter that his client signed a deal with the Oakland Raiders. Sam Montgomery was last on the Houston Texans roster after being drafted by them. He was kicked off the team for hotel incident that still is never came to light. They said that Montgomery and […]

Oakland Raiders: Caution – Spoiler ALERT!

This coming Sunday, December 22nd, my beloved Oakland Raiders have a chance to play  spoiler and crush  what microfilament thin hopes  the San Diego Chargers have of making the play offs.  Not that it matters much, because we all know they’d be one and done even if they did make it. But why prolong the agony of Chargers fans?   Let’s end it this weekend for them, shall...

Raiders' Darren McFadden expected to practice Wednesday

Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said that he expects running back Darren McFadden to be back on the practice field on Wednesday after missing several weeks with a hamstring injury. Depending on how the practices go this week there is a chance McFadden can get back on the field for the Raiders.I still expect Rashad Jennings to be the starter this week even if McFadden is...

Raiders still seeking answers at quarterback

The Oakland Raiders hoped they had the quarterback to build the franchise around after Terrelle Pryor dazzled in a victory over the San Diego Chargers 11 weeks ago that showed flashes of what he could bring as a dual-threat quarterback. Instead of building on that strong start, Pryor regressed and eventually lost his starting job to undrafted rookie Matt McGloin. McGloin will make...

Rich Gannon would not rule out Jon Gruden returning to Raiders

Oakland Raiders fans would love to somehow avenge the infamous tuck rule loss with Jon Gruden back on their sidelines. Current head coach Dennis Allen is already on the hot seat, and the Raiders have not had a winning season since 2002 — when they lost to Gruden’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl. […]

Raiders Sign Former Texans Third-Round Pick DE Sam Montgomery

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Raiders have signed former Texans third-round pick DE Sam Montgomery. Montgomery was waived by the Texans earlier this season after he and a few teammates were caught smoking pot in a hotel room the night before a game. That wasn’t the only issue created by Montgomery, as he should up to training camp out of shape. Even the...

Raiders Sign Sam Montgomery

Although the defensive line was able to get two QB pressures against Alex Smith, it’s no secret that the pass rush and defensive line of the Raiders has been in serious trouble for weeks now. Far too regularly, opposing QB’s have had all the time in the world to read and burn blitz after blitz. I still expect Oakland’s top offseason priority to be a rebuild of the defensive...

Raiders' Darren McFadden likely to play Sunday

Darren McFadden was found Wednesday in the last place most Raiders fans would have expected. On the practice field. Sufficiently recovered from an ankle injury, McFadden is expected to play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium. "That's the direction we're looking at right now; we'll see how it goes this week," Raiders coach Dennis Allen...
